if the sky falls
can we catch it

  if the water waves
  can we crash it

    if the sunrises
    can we chase it

      if the wind calls
      can we take it
the world as us
is a world of
love and lust

feet first
into the treat of the night
the teating streets
         the neighbours pool
drunken fools the pair of uz
      dunked in unruly lust
drunk as fruit flies
                  for the science
we list about
                                     and stumble
fumbling lyrics
    in our dripping clothes

laughing like art gone temple

a mentally unstable template

that'll be fazed by the sunrise

The new dawn’s calling me
for a quiet escape
Setting sail to see the sunrise
The soft clouds and the blue sky
in between

before finding solace in the meadow that lies in your eyes,
I found peace in the way silken lavender would melt into an orange & pink sorbet;
but as I lie here now, cradled in the comfort of your arms, I find that I dread sunrise

most find the dark unsettling — shutting themselves off when midnight strikes;
but in the moonlight, is when we shine the brightest — when we thrive, when we are the most alive

I want to see the sun with you.
The rising, the setting
The ******* rainbow it makes.

I want to see it all with you.
But if I can't, when I can't
I want you to see it on your own.

I want you to experience beauty.
Over and over
Every sunrise, every sunset.

I want everything for you.
Every precious thing
Every little thing.

Every soft moment that might brighten your day
I want for you.
This sunset is yours.

sunrise
first optic pins toe-tipping play across the meadow
wind bends the forrest fringe west away
the trees adverse to receive
priestly daylight
after all the
    business
    completed
during a most
competitive and predatory
                                                   night

All I can think about
Are the things we would do
If I had moved the mountains
That buried you
I pieced you back together
With shrapnel from the glass
Stained with the pigment
From under my eyes
Restless from this rustling wind
Anxious and bitter cold
I feel like the whistle
That rings in your ear
As you lay there
Under the weight
Of broken words
Trying to forget the sunrise
That looms too close
With your sleep captive
In its marmalade palm
