There is a deep empty space inside of me
which no one wishes to understand
My tears are a monument to them
My strife and toil is their eternal bliss
quietly forgotten I sink deeper
I never wished to be this way It was none of my choice
to be an off **** in your field of flowering blossoms
soon to be snuffed out and forgotten in the amber
dust to dust ashes to ashes
overlooked and unwanted unneeded and unhelpful
A deep stain in the linen needing only to be removed
When will I be set free? When will it end?
There is nothing left for me here. There never was
and there never will be.

Isn’t it a strange concept
we hold on to someone
we fell for
We blindly fight
even if it doesn’t feel right
We lose ourselves
we feel sad
Happiness suffers
but we hold on
Love’s something mad.

L.C.
Sickness stalking like a predator
Prowling for food to eat
No matter how much prey is devoured
Still starving for more meat

Reverberating impulses echo
Cavern between each ear
Anxiety the strings attached to my limbs
Addiction expert puppeteer

It follows every place I wander
One or two steps behind
Tried so hard to shake it's grip
It seems our fates are intertwined

I don't know how the darknessentered
Must have slipped through small cracks long ago
Over years it's winded roots through my skeleton
I am afraid it will never let go

I sense the demons embedded in each cell
Molecules stamped with their names
Branded sin that never stops searing
Blistering soul with shame

Dependency my ball and chain
Tired of dragging it along
Despite best efforts to pick the locks
Shackles worn on wrists are too strong

This burden mine and mine alone
No one else can help me carry this weight
It becomes harder and harder to shuffle forward
Steps slowing at alarming rate

It appears dead ends are multiplying
Trapped inside cage constructed from my hurt
Worry that if I don't escape this hell
I'll be buried in a coffin deep in the dirt

I just want to be free of the shadows
Haunting halls of my head
Black silhouettes in peripheral
Monsters slumbering beside me in bed

Their tentacles wrap around judgement
Doubt fills every crevice in my brain
Can't tell if it's a temporary condition
Or I've gone completely insane

But paint a smile on my lips
In case onlookers ask how I feel
Under surface my heart is suffering
Chasing happiness in high that isn't real
I've got a creature inside me and it's always hungry no matter how much I feed em

Teetering moons linger on the edge.
The desolate expanse cowers in fear.
Outside, an observer that refuses to intervene.

A wailing silence is born in the void.
It's screams descend into a chasm of chaos.
No more can I bear witness to the damnation.

The stars have sewn their eyes shut.
Condemning fate to an eternal madness.
A sorrowful ache burrows into my womb.

Everything yearns for my tenderly solace.
Their patience bound in endless slumber.
My children are born to chaos, forevermore.

Time, imbued in an infinite memory.
Grows beyond distant eons —
And consumes existence itself.
In shadows deep, where sorrows lie,
The cuts we bear, they teach us why.
With every tear, a tale unfolds,
Of strength reborn and hearts turned bold.
Through laughter’s light, and whispers low,
We mend the wounds the world bestows.
Each bandage wrapped with care and grace,
Transforms our scars, reveals our face.
So cast aside the weight of rue,
For every hurt has crafted you.
Embrace the past, let shadows fade,
In every cut, our spirit's made.
The manner in which we respond to trials and tribulations shapes our patterns of behavior and our general attitude and perspective on life.

I find it so easy
to think poetically
of the world
as one giant beach

On it in which
all of us stand
and wait for
the clouds of radiation
to roll in

To resign ourselves
to the disaster
on the horizon
because that's the direction
inertia carries us

Rings of Headrick
Stabilize the flight
Of a broken equal

In zero atmosphere
I record you remembering to smile
Pixel pleasure
Whether or not
In zip ties

Cloud on the brow
Rain in the ashtray
Storms we all breathe in heavily

An end to camaraderie
By critical distance
By counting back from ten

Zero is an even number
When discord is no longer odd

pleading,
crying,
begging—
wanting to be heard.

watching, writhing,
burning in agony.
dreaming a nightmare,
hugging solemn innocence.
aching—
in despair, in desire.

once an angel of life—
now a demon of death in disguise.
her wings were torn, brutally,
and she couldn’t even scream one last time
before they threw her
off the landing.

nowhere to step, nowhere to stand—
barely able to sit,
and yet she ran.

kept running, far and farther still,
only to be pulled back
every time she thought she'd made it out.

they were always there.
watching.
waiting.
hoping.
to catch her,
to tear her—
hands on every part of her.

disgust piled with the blood in her mouth.
she scratched her skin,
tore herself apart—
knowing it’d hurt less
than being caught
by the counterparts.

and yet—
oh, look.
isn’t the moon pretty?

found it in my notes, added to it a bit
got somewhere, i guess?

In this funny ol’ thing we call life,
the world is full of hatred and strife.
Wars are waged, and tears are shed,
at the very same time that people are wed.

We flick between channels of misery and hope,
turning our brains off just so we can cope.
“Why should we change? We only will suffer!”
Don’t think of the ones for whom it is rougher.

So much changes, but some things remain,
peace and joy will always come with pain.
‘What is a human?’ I begin to wonder,
as the rain pours down and it begins to thunder.

Perhaps we are destined to suffer alone,
but at the end of the day, we are just blood and bone.
We stand, balancing hope on the edge of a knife,
in this funny ol’ thing that we call life.
