Spring is here to stay
For three months, hooray!
More bluebirds are chanting
More tulips are blooming
More trees are growing
And dusts are in the air.

The weather is cool, not cold
More houses are being sold
More joggers run in the streets
More retirees are warming the seats
More athletes are at their meets
And allergies are in the air.

Spring is here to stay
For a quarter of the year, hooray!

The tree by the viaduct
violently fell, splintered
in late January's storm.
It had happened at night;
left to tell stories to the worms
about when the stars
waved back.

The pigeons in our garden
didn't sleep on those
stormy early-mornings.

Spring sprouts greener
grass amongst wet moss.
Splinters raise sharp fingernails
to scratch the sky; beckoning
to the heavens that try their best
to welcome the shattered trunk.

The bough lying on the ground,
yet buds bring their bright
colours into blossom to warm
the frozen pavements. A
new life - attractive pink,
romantically scattered along
its own dying bark.
Lying over the grass, ready to
return to the soil when
the last of the sweet sap dries
and the pink fades into dull brown.

But this afternoon,
blessed in cold April sunlight
the bloom of the fallen
tree seems even
brighter against green
than it would have
against a misty grey-blue.
(WIP) the fallen tree still blooms - it isnt ready to decay yet
The year has turned,
time to plough and plant and sow,
on what seemed dead and lifeless
just a week or two ago
all manner of things have begun to grow,
a spectacle, a carnival, a riotous sight
a free-fall jump to returning light,
the showiest of mummers,
a costumed cavalcade
flowering minstrels
a harlequinade,
life as we should live it,
a wild abandoned dance
nature will lead us if we give her half a chance
blanket and pillows and snacks
chopped and dr pimple popper
tv and instagram and cats
late nights and laughter
sleeping in and staying in
pjs all day

The sun grows warm,
so trees will bloom.
Winter crawls back to his tomb.
The leaf grows green
to now be seen.
Good riddance to the cold and gloom.
The flowers dawn
in colored dress.
So simply does their hue impress.
As Nature sings,
her beauty springs;
from such a bitter hard duress.
I’m sure you guys wanted to get more poetry from me. I have issues with social anxiety.
Yesterday, white and cold was the weather
It’s now gone old winter
It’s like turning a light switch on
Today is the birth of the spring season
Let me wish you: Happy Anniversary, Ms. Spring
Happy Birthday, my love! Again, the birds are chirping
After a long séjour flying in a warmer climate
They look like lovers coming off a lavish date
Tonight is our turn to go to dinner
To a fine dining restaurant and then to the theater
Where we can unwind, relax and have fun
The tropical wind is back, the warmth of the sun
Is back and the moon is dancing among the stars
And of course, the beauty of the magnificent flowers
Cannot be ignored. Old and grouchy winter is gone
All the lights and glitters are on, a new season is born.

The sound of busy wings in flight
sweet song in mellow April light
carried on an early breeze
which shakes the limbs of new leaved trees,
pleasure after winter’s sting
a simple yet essential thing
we could not start the season
without the birds in spring
