poetry & spontaneity,
are one in the same,
each piece its own,
spinning wheels on different days,
reminiscent of springtime rain.
My writing is adjacent to this. As I think it is for most poets. We're writing from an unforced flow of thinking, without OVERthinking it. Usually unplanned, and often, not always knowing the outcome or purpose until finished. Each poem is its own.  Rupi Kaur is a great example of this.

hell, I thought, and pain
and death and ****
all around me.

hell with no escape,
pain without relief,
death amongst the living
and **** compiled
in the mirror
in front of me.

what I needed was
an act of decadence
to break the staleness,
something spontaneous.

so, I took back my last
swallow full of whiskey,
slicked back my hair and
grabbed the first woman
I saw by the hips.

I pulled her closely to me,
and then kissed her
very passionately.

she pushed me away
almost instantly and
as I turned around,
she hit me in the back
with her purse where
I heard threats of violence
come slithering through the air
from her boyfriend’s tongue.

I bade them all adieu
and walked out the door.

I was an imp without a care
knowing that I have lived
up to the very thing
I want etched on my grave:
regret nothing.

I am not this emotion
In the wide and deep ocean
I am not this emotion, at all

I am not this emotion
In the wide and deep ocean
I am not this emotion, at all

I am not this emotion
In the wide and deep ocean
I am not this emotion, at all, at all, at all...
Sang this after I noticed an unpleasant emotion. Tried to let it be there and see it. A dramatic build-up in the song. If it was a musical, thousands of stars would light up around the singer in a swirl towards the sky ...

Cause it's right where we are
Right where we stand
Right where we are
Until the end
Until the end
Until the end...
A spontaneous song I sang out of the blue.

I'm just gonna-gonna do my best
**** the rest
I'm just gonna-gonna do my best
**** the rest
I'm just gonna-gonna do my best
**** the rest
I'm just gonna-gonna do my best
**** the rest...
A little song that came to my mind spontaneously today. It has a funny and quick melody. Encouraging and motivating ;)

We are very quick and understanding
For each other's happy ending,

We are very quick and understanding
For each other's happy ending,

We are very quick and understanding
For each other's happy ending...
Another song I sang out of the blue... 💙
The melody is pretty allegro.

Self destruction
With no red button
Internal spontaneous combustion

A flipped switch
Quick curve ball pitch
Veered straight for the ditch

No countdown timer
No red, no blue wire
Just a smoldering dumpster fire

Struggle with each next breath
Welcoming a last breath
A timeless back and forth with death

It's alright, baby,
Just the way it is,
No need to change a thing.

It's alright, baby,
Just the way it is,
No need to fall apart.
A spontaneous song I sang. Probably to soothe myself.

Here I go again searching for a friend
Looking for someone to recommend
Someone to help me progress in life
Maybe this person could end up my wife

I’ve been looking and hoping to no avail
I feel I need a partner to help me prevail
Maybe I’ll find her or maybe I won’t
My dreams are beginning to feel remote

I’ve got to have faith is what everyone says
Just my luck I run into my friend Suarez
He tells me he knows of a perfect match
Almost like a winning ticket I don’t have to scratch

Her name is Becky I say to myself with a smile
I can’t wait to meet her, I haven’t felt love in awhile
She arrives at my house as quiet as a mouse
I feel really confident that she will be my spouse

Writing from the heart

is tricky, spontaneous --

words can be faulty.
