I read a book the other day, it was one about all the things I couldn’t say. It spoke to me with words I’d intended to reach from deep within, grasping stories of betrayal and heartbreak but also ones of roses and kittens purring at my door. I read a book the other day, just on the corner of Main Street in a lonely market where people didn’t speak but they felt a connection anyway. We stared at each other from across the way feeling the same emotions but not saying so, just on the corner of main. I want to say these words, ones of healing and ones that bring others strength. I will return to the market soon to finally say the words I’ve always meant to say.
Silence is power but words are too

Catch me
Like a Firefly in a glass tomb
Like a candlelit flame in a dark room

I am narrative alive and well
Time reincarnate
And I give myself most humbly forward

Charred and broken at both ends
Until my own ashes turn lie and truth
I burn on every living tongue for you
God bless the words which avail to me, and actually want to be spoken.

It is not weak to yield
nor is it courageous
to rely on subterfuge
Speaking your inner truth
comes from daring to brave
eye rolls
shaking of heads
and mouths that smile yet
form cruel sentences all the same
You'll bleed
dripping perspiration
oozing all the love
you cannot find
Just when it seems as if
the sun is obscured by clouds
you get to your feet
tense muscles unclenching
utterly at the mercy
of all the light
you are just now starting to see.

Speak your truth. Live your dream. Act on your word.

Cause in the end. words are just words. The devil could read the bible out loud and the saints would cover their ears.  God could preach about heIl and the sinners will make fun of him. Words are just words. Some letters in order.
The speaker and the listener.
They determine the meaning.
