Hello palpitations my old friend
You've come to hurt me yet again
Because depression softly creeping
Shows itself when I was waking
And the venom that was flowing through my brain
Makes me pain
Within the sound of silence
...
Stuck in shadows, stuck in shadows
My tears are seeping through my pillow
No salvation, no salvation
**** my heart, I want to cease consciousness
No awareness, no awareness
And I will finally find peace, I will finally be free
When the blessed darkness help me slumber eternally
...
Don't waste time on me
Do please understand
Deep in the cage of my soul
I am eager and glad to sleep
...
The dreams have come to take me away
I close my eyes
I will find peace
I will find my freedom
As I fade
Into the night

i lack inspiration,
the key concept of my heart's anticipation,
the longing of my soul,
has become my lifelong goal.

it wasn't that easy,
finding an inspiration where you can learn deeply,
the bad side of it was you're hurting badly,
so that you can produce something appropriately.

if finding an inspiration is no easy task,
learn to love yourself, present, future and past,
don't depend on others,
for they will not last.

be your own story,
your walking diary and dictionary,
snippets of different life events,
given a twist of melody.

as I learn to find inspiration,
not only poems are my composition,
songs has been put into action,
driven by the heart.

given with my own timeline,
i can say hiatus has been worthwhile.

imagine
we all would have
a playlist
with all
the songs
we used to love
but
forgot about

a lot of them
would bring back
memories
bonded to
joy

some
would bring back
memories
bonded to persons
we almost forgot
too

and some
may bring back
all the memories
we associate with
pain and
agony

but we would
still listen
to 'our' songs
also check out my other poems!  :)

Every love song reminds me of him
I imagine us dancing to them.
A montage of us laughing and him
Twirling me in “I love you’s”plays
Keeping to the rhythm.

I want to be his, but we only exist in
My dreams.
I see him when my eyes shut or when I’m staring
Into space while thinking of him
And what could have (be)en.

When I awake or the music stops playing
I try to be happy
But the words are stuck in my head
Following me through the day.

Will I ever get over him or will he always drive me crazy?

He is my guilty pleasure,
The song I hate to love.
Can I bring myself to stop listening?
Or will I always be stuck?

No use complaining ‘bout wat life I’ve been dealt, nah

Cuttin’ up fresh is da word, new kid on da block, could b u
It’s how u survive in da hood
No layin’ ‘bout, stand up like a real man should
Don’t want 2 sleep on no choo choo train, no more
Then get off ya RRRs, do sum thing like neva b4

From da Juice Crew 2 Mr Magic, down in Boogie Down Bronx Queensbridge is da place 2 b near, it all interlocks

Than any udder crib, in da hole ******* world, ya hear
So trekkin’ from youth, 2 B.ing @ 1520 Sedgwick Avenue
I’m now livin’ in fcukin’ Wonderland, if only Alice really knew
I don't like looking back,
three years ago I didn't have
any friends, any hope,
I gave them up all for a joke
of a man who laid his hands on parts of me he shouldn't have
and yes I knew, I swear I knew
that I had to leave but I couldn't move,
'cause at one point in time you had me by my mind
and I almost lost it all,
you didn't care you watched me fall,
but that was then and this is now and now is always gonna change,
but for today it's safe to say,
that I'm gonna be okay.
I say I'm gonna be okay.

Birthday Poem to Myself
by Michael R. Burch

LORD, be no longer this Distant Presence,

Star-Afar, Righteous-Anonymous,
but come! Come live among us;

come dwell again,
happy child among men—

men rejoicing to have known you
in the familiar manger’s cool

sweet light scent of unburdened hay.
Teach us again to be light that way,

with a chorus of angelic songs lessoned above.
Be to us again that sweet birth of Love

in the only way men can truly understand.
Do not frown darkening down upon an unrighteous land

planning fierce Retributions we require, and deserve,
but remember the child you were; believe

in the child I was, alike to you in innocence
a little while, all sweetness, and helpless without pretense.

Let us be little children again, magical in your sight.
Grant me this boon! Is it not my birthright—

just to know you, as you truly were, and are?
Come, be my friend. Help me understand and regain Hope’s long-departed star!
