He draws a silhouette figure on paper with ink.

He knows what she thinks.

He is fixed by her,

Like he just saw a woman for the first time.

She can just lay there and her presence shines.

He studies her body like the galaxy.

His interest won the acknowledgement test.

She won the academy.

He slips it on her desk.

And says to her  "You are art."

All my emotions bottled up.

Part of my soul has sunken in.

Your voice vibrates on my skin.

Bittersweet memories circulate like a washer on full spin.

I line my feelings and pin my agonizing thoughts.

Poured all my emotions, you stole all my tokens.
So cheap.

Drying all the wounds that cut so deep.

Like a passenger sitting on a bus
Surrender your life to me,
I'll guard it like a driver steering
In the darkness, and
After dropping you to the destination
Will move on, happy with the FARE of Memories.

we bask in the glory of the sun
and gaze at the beauty of the moon
wondering what it would be like
to be as beautiful as each component
never gone, only "soon"

little do we know
that we resemble them both
we rise
we fall
sometimes never knowing
if we can even get back up at all
but we always do
just like the sun and moon
we are never gone
only "soon"

Younger wanting to be older
Older wanting to be young
Child wishing to be bigger
Bigger wishing to be thinner

Teen wanting a clearer face
Clearer face wanting a better body
People lamenting bad hair days
Bad hair days replaced with no hair days. . .

We diss what we have
Wish for what we lack
When what we have is gone
Oh, what we'd give to have it back!

Youthful desires for future yearning
Future bearing down like a train
Elders' memories of past unnerving
Hit by a train never the same

10/6/2020 - Poetry form: Free Verse - Seems like we're never satisfied. If you're an adolescent you want to be an adult. If you're older you want to be younger. And on and on and on. Why can't we just be content and enjoy what we have at any given time? - Mark Toney © 2020

The ache inside of me
Groans like desert for rain
like the waves for the shore
Like stars for the rest of morning
.
And it sounds so beautiful
So poetic
So perfect
An agonizing masterpiece
.
But it still aches

If you must tell a lie, do so well -
Lies likely fall apart
Often crumbling due to bumbling
A speakers deadly demise
My passion is the lonely lie
Lone creates shine
A lie must deliver cleverly
Or all would align -
A poetic imitation of Emily Dickinson's "Tell all the truth but tell it slant" I did for my poetry class.
