Laugh.
Frown.
****.
Cry.
Die... inside.

Expose your life force.
Destroy your life force.
Please leave your life force in the bin.
You are normal now.
Rejoice, you are happy now.
Bow down, human.

Insert the tubular device into your face.
You will feel a mellow ******* force.
This is normal. It is functional.
Watch a short video to proceed.
Yes... you are amazing.
Press the button to capture your face.
You look fantastic.
See how happy you are...
Human.
You are feeling...
Fantastic.
Human.

A click here
and a click there
taking snaps everywhere
at the age of living carefree
our generation is obsessed with selfie
with a stick in our hand
everywhere we stand -

feeling sick
let's take a pic
going to party
don't forget the photography

every single moment is;
captured as if was a bliss!
fake smiles captured with a flick
but we never get bored of taking click

we are loosing the compassion
in no way we are human
we don't help the one in need;
fish our camera and take snaps instead

portraying poor and their poverty
the name and fame won't help them any
All they want is may be a piece of bread
but the human in us is already dead!

all we do is take a click
Believe me all this is a sh*t!

Extended verse -

we have strong opinion on social media
but in actual world we suffer anemia
we like, comment and share;
when action is needed all we do is stare

such piteous is our condition
we can't stand in unison
and so its easy to break us
else what the hell is this ISIS
Oh Selfie Selfie Selfie!
You're taken here and taken there
Anywhere and everywhere
In random poses we prefer.

From wide smile and duck face
To looking cute and being fierce
Searching for the right angle
In order to catch the likers.

Some say you show too much vanity
But who are they to judge so harshly?
When all you want is for them to be happy
And express themselves perfectly.

So yeah this is me and Julie outside H&M;…
trying too hard to look ****?
Desperate tarts more like.
We went to Starbucks after that, then the pub,
and then… the rest of the afternoon's a blur. Haha.

----------✿-----------

Oh yes and this one's me with Foo Foo,
stupid cat's sitting on top of my presentation.
She can be useless at times but she makes a good hot water bottle
when it's like, really cold? You know? Cats are great for that.
Dead sympathetic too. Good listeners.

----------✿-----------

Oh now this is a good one. This is me
with that **** actor off I'm a Celebrity.
He was in… actually I can't remember what he was in?
Really like, **** though? Yet I've only seen him on I'm a Celebrity?
Anyway he was cool with stopping for a selfie. God love him.
(Whoever he is).

----------✿-----------

Ahh… this one is me with Julie again. She's such a ******.
She's got one of those light up Santa hats on. Daft *****.
Never did get one for me. Not that I'd wear one.
I prefer those furry reindeer antlers.
See? There's one of me with antlers on.

----------✿-----------

Oh here's one of me and Mum.
Yeah very sad I know. She tries so hard to be cool, bless her.
Embarrassing really. I gave her my old phone and
she still hasn't worked out how to use it.
Takes loads of photos of herself though.
So sad.
As much as i tease and make fun of selfie sticks
I think they're extremely useful for people way in the back.
Cole Hearn Oct 2015
Hearn's is a story of a flat bird,
He couldn't catch the early worm,
Dollar too late mixing wrist with shanks.
Here lies Hearn: Goliath midage Peter Pan,
He flew too high and never land.
Hearn writes little words like their his words,
Cole is a mess making a mess outliving the rest,
Hearn holds a gun to his head a pen to his chest.

Once we were young
And ruled the the world
We saw things
We did things

The photographs
proved we were there
Instant.
Gratification.
A like.
A fleeting comment.
A bit of attention.
This doesn't last forever, need I mention?

We paint picture perfect lives
as if it were the truth.
Rarely do people post about times
when they're discouraged or feeling blue.

Our lives seem enviable, but you don't see what occurs behind doors.
The mundane moments no one wants to disclose.

With social media I find myself becoming more distant, yet feeling more connected in an instant. Making so called friends that I never talk to in person. Adding to a list of people that I pretend to know and ignoring the ones I say I care for.

Then there's the selfish gratification. It's all about me. Here's another one of my selfies. But somehow I find that I compare myself endlessly. And so do you and so does he. It's a game we aren't aware we signed up for. Yet the mutual agreement is we all score.
Social media can be great and also terrible at times. Don't get me wrong- I'm all for selfies but I think sometimes we can become a little shallow and conceited from them.
