eyes dazed by magenta blaze

            skin torn by piercing thorn

blood drop tickles zinc hole in morn

she knows her season is done

a petaling head will droop under afternoon’s Sun

abundance is a prime piano note

                              •¥¥•

frugal the piano notes sound

                 her head ***** at midday

her season embraces her

with blood bleeding through as blush

her skin translucent calls

                       magenta gaze closes lids
This is a new golden horizon
This is a heavenlike season
Where everything is dandy and beautiful
And a serpentine rainbow looks wonderful
In the sky, in the heaven, in the air
Look, countless birds are diving in the atmosphere.

This is a brand new season
This is a honeylike horizon
I wonder if this is a new spring
A new style to speak and to sing
Oh! I see. This is simply a new thing
A new genre to swing in the ring.

Hooray! Hooray! I'm absolutely right
Everything will be alright, yes alright
No more sadness, no more pain
Despite the surprisingly audacious rain
This is a heavenlike horizon
This is a new golden season.

There are countless rainbows in the sky
I cannot tell or invent a lie
This is a time to hope and to heal
And to come up with a new and better deal
Fire in the nerves, fire in the bloodstream
Look, two fish are swimming in the golden stream.

Ellen Joyce Oct 2014
October falls like blood pressure
on scalding dead sea afternoons
making driftwood of bodies
and all struggle futile.
This is the amber blaze;
the penetrating hues of oranges and yellows
blurring to bright white noise against
the barking of trees stripped bare
to the cacophonous scent of feathers and fire.
The autumn sky hauls tight its purse strings,
drawing night in, wrapped tight like winter coats
cumbersome and confining – in decline.
The equilibrium tipped by a bandit callous and howling -
piercing pitch shattering prism till colours fall away like raindrops
and life turns back to black.
Everything changes
Winter cold and grey
Turn into blossoming spring
Flowers dance in colorful rainbows
As the sun smiles warmly

Everything changes
Spring mild and sweet
Turn into heated summer
Deep green trees offer shade
As the sun burns brightly

Everything changes
Summer wild and free
Turn into golden autumn
Crispy wind fills the air
As the sun retreats slowly

Everything changes
Autumn fresh and kind
Turn into hibernated winter
Frozen crystals cover everything
As the sun hides behind clouds

And so like the seasons
I change and shed my skin
From winter to spring
From spring to summer
From summer to autumn
From autumn back to winter

Everything changes
Yet something stay the same
My beating heart
Spreading love and light
No matter the season
Yesterday was your birthday
Unfortunately, that was a busy day
However, I went to the garden
Of my heart this beautiful morning
Where I picked an invisible rose that could bring:
Happiness, joy, good humor and an early spring.

I shaved my beard and mustache to make your day
With all my heart, I wish you a happy birthday
Oh! I would like to charm you until nightfall
When the rainbow is no more in the fall
Toward another horizon, for another season
Please accept this rose, this poem, this song.

P.S. This poem is dedicated to my good friend.

The dampness
of the rainy season
        is soaking into
My bones
And
Into my being
I remember when it used to snow.
I’d stare in awe out my window.
‘You’ll get frostbite!’ I was told.
Now, I’m old and it barely gets cold.

I remember when it used to snow.
Even at night, you could see it glow.
The birds would leave, but now they stay.
Even they’re confused in these “winter” days.

I remember when it used to snow.
O my, wasn’t it beautiful?
My niece questions on the way home,
“What did it feel like, the snow?”
A throwaway poem featured in my collection "Nature, She Wrote"
Jonathan Jun 29
Long shadows sandwiched between a biting breeze and a not quite wet damp black tarmac.

The end of colour intense time, echoing summer and spring's past,
pulling eyes to the grey mute hues of sky and tree.
A subdued stating of its intent to last.

Year-end approaches, celebration looms, competing the grey with a triumph that brings change towards gentler tones.
And a lightness,
seemingly lost in the yearly cycle.

The scent of spring once hidden beneath the diminishing decay of autumn and winter's contribution brings a bright hope forecasting a weathered change.

The beat of the yearly cycle quickens adding strength and tempo to my own hearts quickening with a prospect of longer days.

Everybody is destroying Haiti
Please stop, stop, quit. At last, give the country
A break, a rich season. There are too many bandits, vandals
Too many lootings, thefts, too many crises and scandals
On this impoverished and exploited island
Give Hayti a chance to live better. Give our land
A break with too much violence and injustice
Ayiti needs peace, love and real justice
Why all of you are hurting Haiti so bad?
This is sickening
Haytians, please stop being so sad and mad
Haiti needs everybody's love and compassion
This is damning
Please help Haiti in this time of destruction
Or leave Hayti alone, to breathe
Hate only knows how to burn, **** and destroy
The truck is about to kiss the rugged cliff
Stop the rancor, put out the fire and bring joy
Haitians, Haytians, wake-up to a new beginning and era
Get rid of the bad seeds and unite with the Diaspora
Unite to fight against corruption and waste of the aids
Be positive! Be ready to get rid of all sorts of plagues
Please stop the violence and use sheer common sense
Hayti needs a new and better season
Haitians, help our nation be an oasis, a starry beacon
Let's understand each other
Unite to be better! Unite to help each other and to dance
Let's love each other to be better
Unite in this time of crisis; and reject death and violence
