Shallow end of a pond
Spinning slowly
Another body and I'm sorry
It's the most gut-wrenching
Sad
Raw
Depressing
Cliché
Cliché
Cliché
It's the most gut-wrenching time
Of the year
It's the blood in the air
Getting colder
And I've fallen
And I'm calling
It's the most gut-wrenching
Sad
Raw
Depressing
Cliché
Cliché
Cliché
It's the most gut-wrenching time
Of the year
A tangle of thoughts pulling in different directions,
honest in their disorder.

You gave me a boat—
A boat made of paper.
You painted it blue,
I preferred green.
You poor soul, couldn’t have known

Oh, You gave me a boat—
I said it was perfect,
And I knew it was paper,
Yes, I swear I did.

But I put it in the water,
Even quickly named it June,
A quiet way to remember
The day you forgot soon

And I knew it was melting—
And I know you did too

But god gave me a heart
Gave you one too
Though yours is for beating
And mine is to feel

Still—
I went in the boat,
Oh, I didn’t want fighting.
A few feet later,
I felt the water flow.

I swam to the shore,
And yes, I saw you laughing—
But still, I swam to you,

For I could not call for help
Help from the warm murky water
No I will not anger you.
And I didn’t choose to drown,
For I cannot bear it.

Bear to see you suffer,
Like I would have for you.
Though you do not deserve it,
And not for forever— I hope
I swim back to you

Butterflies are flying around—on a bright sunny day.

Butterflies that are a honey brown— as the crust of the sun.

Flying around because the sun is out.

Not to hide or hibernate in their cocoons.

Concealing themselves from the outside world—not doing that today.

They can't inherit the trait of being anti-social, because they are not human.

At least not in this season, because it is bright outside.

Not being contrary to anyone’s belief.

Not worrying about the input or the output.———
These butterflies are free, scavenging around for places to hide.

Although the night had ceased, the Sun.

They—> Butterflies,
ran around like elephants encountering mice—
or humans encountering roaches.

Looking for a tree to settle on, as if there were not numerous amounts outside.

Out of all the figures outside—
It chose to stand by me?

The spot on my skin that is the most rough.

The spot on my skin textured like trees.

The spot on my skin that looked like the trees.

“Oh.”

Realization then dawned on me, just like that the sun woke up like a new idea—
and the Moon left to attend a party on the other side.

Like the Moon, the butterfly flew away, back onto the tree with a newfound realization.
I wrote this poem free-writing and because of an encounter with a butterfly.
I thought it would be a fun idea to incorporate repetition in my writing because I am trying to increase my writing skills.

I love you too the moon and back
Which is every pump of my heart
Every pulse on my neck
All the blood in my body
Every single individual red blood cell
He said

I love you
You and only you
The beats of my heart are yours
Every pulse of my wrist
Every millisecond
Every Nanobeat of my life is yours
Yours and only yours

Boredom
Nothing to do
Nothing to say
Nothing to feel
Its peaceful
It’s perfect
If only it didn’t feel so wrong
The yearn for excitement
Something to do
Something to say
Something to feel
It feels so right
If only it didn’t lead to a want to do nothing
A need for Boredom
Nothing to do
Nothing to say
Nothing to feel
And such the cycle goes on
And on
Forever longer
Someday love,
We'll live down by the sea,
Together for all of eternity.

Someday love,
We'll be away from pestering eyes,
Making a life for you and I.

Someday love,
We'll grow old with our son and daughter,
Joyously watching as they grow.

Someday. . .
Wishing

You hear it, soft at first,
A whisper in the night,
A fluttering breath on your ear,
A wish that won’t take flight.
Love me,
Love  me.

The pulse quickens,
The shadows grow longer,
Each moment stretching
Like time has forgotten itself.
Love   me,
Love    me,
Love     me.

It clings like the air,
A taste on your tongue,
Unspoken, yet loud enough to drown.
The silence thickens—
Can you hear it?
Love      me,
Love       me,
Love        me,
Love         me.

It’s all that exists now,
A cage you can’t escape,
The need spirals deeper,
Faster, tighter,
Love          me.
Love           me.
Love          me.
Love         me,
Love        me.

The walls close in,
The words no longer hold weight,
Just a chant,
A prayer,
A broken record.
Love       me.
Love       me.
Love     me.
Love    me.
Love   me.
Love  me.

Love me?
This poem was originally an experiment in shape poetry, but I decided to take a different approach. Instead, I focused on spacing and repetition to create a gradual descent into obsession, evoking a spiraling effect. Inspired by the hypnotic structure of Angel by Massive Attack,” this piece builds intensity until it collapses into a final, lingering question.

(I’m still not sure if I like it… tell me what you think!)

Falling, falling down
The water follows its rhythm

To, on the ground
The clouds, for all that’s written

in stone,
on paper,
with ink and pen.

Below, to know
to hear
the rain fall
the wind fly away,

away,

away,

and soon to seep into the ground

again.
Am I alone?
Is this Earth my prison to roam?
Is there something to me
That's corrupted to the bone?
Am I alone?
Will this house ever become a home?
It's hard to have faith,
When hatred is all I've known
Maybe I spoiled all the kindness I was shown
Buried in soil, now a flower's finally grown
Am I alone?
Is my fate truly written in stone?
It's a silent night in the Twilight Zone
And yet, I still fight with all the life in my bones
Before I meet the Father by his heavenly throne

Am I alone?
Are these crimes mine to atone?
They say you only reap the fruits
Of the seeds you've sown
Maybe I spoiled all the kindness I was shown
Buried in soil, now a flower's finally grown
Am I alone?
Will this house ever become a home?
I'm starting to lose faith,
While I'm waiting by the phone
Am I alone?
Is my fate truly written in stone?
It's a silent night in the Twilight Zone
And yet, I still fight with all the life in my bones
Before I meet the Father by his heavenly throne
Let it be known.
