It was then that the universe decided to play
Out a sequence of events that would lead to this day
She conspired with the sun
with the earth and the moon
With the rest of the cosmos
    to create enough room
For elegant curiosity to bloom

Opportunity presented herself to his door
She gestured,
  and smiled,
   And said "wait no more"
He knew in an instant it was time to act,
Because chances are few, such a plain simple fact.
And so our protagonist seized that one chance,
For his soul to experience a new kind of dance.

It was all for a girl,
  curiosity,
  what if?
She moved with such grace, she sparked up a spliff
In the garden of dreams,
     bathed in glorious sunlight
Her hair, face and smile
     it all felt so right
And watching her glow and feeling her lust,
He knew it was time,
   he knew that he must.
He leaned in closer for a taste of her lips,
She turned in towards him,
    she shuffled her hips
And then when at last they shared that first kiss,
His soul was ignited and smothered in bliss.

And that was the moment that everything changed,
A shift in perspective, a life re-arranged.
For what then ensued through that day and that night,
Was nothing short or pure cosmic delight.

Moments come and moments go
Memories fade over time's forward flow
But the feelings remain, they are timeless and true
And no-one and nothing can take them from you.

So if you're attentive to universe's song,
   and seize opportunity,
you can never go wrong.
For you might one day find where you truly belong
Another poem centered around love but the focus here is seizing opportunities when they present themselves. Peace and love my fellow poets

With each new day I am born anew
Into a world of opportunity.
There is no limit to what I can do
Nor to the potential within me!

So I sit here on the brink of my chance,
waiting for the right time to fall.
Somehow we knew at the first glance,
but we both truly knew nothing at all.
We seem to embrace opportunity from afar,
but I vow not to wait for the world to change me.
I will follow my own true star.
Who is it that chooses who to be?
No one wants to be the shadow of a man,
or to only leave mere footprints in the sand.
For the mark will be washed away with time,
along with the shadows that have robbed me blind.
It is time for me to take that leap.
I am tired of living life asleep.
For I know it is I who decides my own fate.
We control what we create.
Now my true star is shining bright,
so I will follow it into the night.
This is an adaptation of what was originally a sonnet that I have changed into a poetic monologue for a short film that I plan to produce.

However improbable
I like to think that the multiverse theory is true
That for every choice we made
there are versions of us who made different ones,
and that for every lost opportunity
there is a whole another universe where we took a chance
The paradox will never end
the parallels will never cross
But I like to think that
somewhere out there
no matter how unreachable
there is a version of me
that still has you.

Little droplets of blood,
Like little sprinkles of rain
Sadness was like a flood
Only dammed by my pain
My roses had turned to ashes,
With petals made of glass
On my arms were gashes
As I waited for this feeling to pass
The world spun so fast,
Holding onto a knife
I was gazing at the past,
Unsure of my life
For you never know what tomorrow will bring,
If with sorrow you will cry or if with joy you will sing
4.20.2016... this was a sonnet I wrote for an English assignment. I didn't end up turning it in (along with a few other sonnets I wrote which I might post soon because of the slight fear of being sent to the counselor's office, but I feel like sharing it since tomorrow is the New Year and it's this bright fresh lovely opportunity for everybody. Thank you for reading :)

Loving you was not easy for me,
A** lovable man I was approached by many,
Should I move on like you did,
Taming my shame under the veil of modernity.

Lower should I fall than you had dropped me,
Of course, I will never move on,
Veering in love is known to you,
Especially you because your love was untrue.

Well, I should wait for my luck to shine,
Enter I should the next relationship cautiously,
Love I'll with all the pieces of my broken heart,
Come it will sooner than never I am sure,
Of course, I won't move on myself,
Malfunction a true love won't,
Excuses will be missing for another breakup.
Every breakup is an opportunity for a truer love to appear on the horizon of a successful man with a broken golden heart.

How do you perceive the world
A world as dark and happy,
Suppressive and full of opportunity,
As another headache or painkiller,
Or as much of a heartbreak
Or heart-filler?

Where does one draw the line
In the figurative dirt of
Trust or mistrust,
Of isolation and lust?

How have you been conditioned to view this world?
Through two windows to a compact machine
Cogs and gears turning, calculating...
What am I seeing?

I flew to the nearest tree I saw
As the rain drops and flow.
Hid myself under the leaves
Tries not to get wet, hence I weaved.
Rain drops never ending.
Winds controlled the swinging tree
Anxiously I wagged my wings to nowhere
Search for a safe place to wander.
