we use a cheap language full of facts
spools feeding nightmares
in our grisaille history painting a flat canvas
every thing reduced
the door said open
and you opened it

so much of what we are
is not about how well
we do it
but how badly
we want it
the promised future never came quick enough
and we are left asking…

the phone wants constant interaction
the builders drill, drive the caterpillar squeals
the kids on the trampoline howl
the dog whimpers like Miles Davis on his horn
a more authentic expression than
the smooth pop jingles
from a lost youth

zero — expression from nothing —
the background radiation —
the song of yes — I am — I want —
all this noise against the sense of lack
now we know why exhale follows inhale
and all things seek to return to their natural gravity —
observations will be made by the still articulate
of the tiny ecosystem of a forgotten pond
the silence after this will be immaculate

What if i am an illusion, it would explain the kind of nothingness that I feel. How when I buried a knife in my wrist I couldn't feel a thing. That I sometimes more than often feel invisible, like everything is surreal, like I am as transparent as air.

Falling stars
In the night sky
Away so far
And here I lie-
On the ground
But still so high,
In the nothingness,
Under the moon,
And the sun,
Wondering why
And how
It all began.

In a comma state of mind
I look but all I find
Is the nothingness you left behind

Nothing in my head
No meaning in what you said

Nothing in my heart
You never was apart

Nothing in my feelings
Nothing to send me reeling

In a comma state of mind
I look but all I find
Is the nothingness you left behind

Was so afraid to love again
from times that I've been hurt

somehow I knew that the next time
would surely be the worst

she fought her way past all the guards
and blasted through the walls

she stripped away my foolish pride
and then she changed it all

and by the time she finished up
I was a different man

I'm 6 weeks sober, in good shape
but don't know who I am

I gave up all my secrets, too
she kept her mystery

and in disgust, she turned away
from my dark history

she pointed out what I did wrong
and left me in the night

when I had given up my past
and started doing things "right"

“Nothing” is so hard to imagine,
For even empty space is something.
Nothing means “no thing”,
Which means it cannot exist
Without Existence.

There must be Something
For there to be a Nothing.
And then we have the anomaly
Of sub-atomic particles
Winking in and out of existence:
Something then nothing then something then…

We are partly made of such particles,
So we too are winking……

The wonder of it all, of course,
Is that I sit here
Scratching my head about “Nothing”,
A sentient being trying to make sense
Of the miracle that is Life.

Nothingness....MMMMMM........

Heartbeats, breaths.
We're finding ourselves
Somewhere here
In the nothingness of our existence.
Are we nothing,
Because we are nobodys?
Or are we something,
Because we're a part.

She walked through the streets in her shimmering
dress that hugged her skin as if part of her being.
Speaking in tongue misunderstood by thought she
stared not at you but within you as if she was gauging
the purity of your inner grace.

"What's a pretty girl like you doing alone?

"Where did you fall from,

One goaded, smiling she replied,

"I fell a long way down,

"Dii me ridere, [loosely translated]
"The gods are laughing at me?

She smirks at those in plentiful urgency to expel
what time they have on tribal necessities.
Wondering into a alleyway she had a few to choose
from but this one barely lit.

The spider and the fly came to mind, but who
was in the web and who was but a husk waiting to decay?

"Lady you going to have a bad night,

"Bad night, try bad millennium you apes make me laugh,

"Who you calling ape woman?

"Lets see your hairy, you smell, and you scrape your
hand on the ground, no sorry ape is to good for you organisms,

Her dress seems to separate and he hair lengthens to hide modest
of a body of perfection. before there eyes is an angel but her
feathers are as onyx as coal. "See my true from, As screams
bathe the walls and wisps of smoke ascend not to heaven
but fade in the wind. Eyes are charred echoes of where sight
Was blessed now eroded into husks of nothingness.

"Silly little things, when will they learn that there are things
in the night you shouldn't play with,

Walking out of the alley a smile on her face, she hadn't
had that much fun in a while. Scorching a soul wasn't
fun but they weren't worthy of it any way. Now she
was off to see what this nice little black number
would help to get a free drink or two.

Drown my screams out with your chatter
I'm unseen, I don't matter
Please don't give me another thought
In the grip of nothingness I was caught
Day by day I slowly slipped away
As I slowly faded to gray
You never noticed, you never knew
Noting in your life was askew
Once upon a time I use to cross your mind
The best erasing is done by time
Now I'm but a gray mist, that floats before your minds eyes
That before you can grasp the memory away it flies
