I looked in

the mirror today
She looked back at me,
Scared but kind of okay
We talked for a while

I finally asked her, what’s wrong
She trembled & said, “I may be broken, no..
Truly, we are all kind of broken.
But something is breaking away, everyday.”

Like a faulty guitar string
Out of tune, out of luck
Waiting to be pulled, plugged and played

california sea, late august
salt in my eyes,
the statue stood
as a mirage of you and
me, once so grounded and strong
now only the
waves can break it away

history prefers legends to men
it prefers nobility to brutality
it prefers soaring speeches to quiet deeds
it remembers the battle and forgets the blood

whatever history remembers of me if it remembers anything at all. i shall always think of myself as a man well,
just a MAN
“Pillows & Records” Memories of an old friend
I see you in music
notes are steps
closer to you
press play and
we never pause
"music" and "you" can be read as the first words of the next line
