You have always wondered what darkness is,
You have always hoped to see it,
You even asked me to show you,
But I know if I gave you the gift of darkness,
(For I indeed Know darkness)
You would burn it,
And say,
"That is not darkness...See how much light it has made"

6 Muslims
were killed
in Canada
in one day
last week,

this is
a higher
figure
than that
of Americans
killed by refugees
over the last
20 years,

the killer
was a white guy,
a Supremacist,
and as far as
I know
Trump has shared
not a word
of sympathy
or condolence
on this tragic
crime,

as of today,
not
a
single
solitary
word.

The following poem is a generalization, on that, we can likely agree,
but this is the way that most Trumpists appear, to many a person like me:*

Dear Trumpists, I am here to say I think I understand
just what you're really all about across the troubled land.
It really bugs you, does it not, when walking in your town,
to see so many people with a skin of black or brown?

To hear a foreign language when the immigrants converse.
To see them in a headscarf or a turban makes you curse.
Their differences, their ways of life, you see as disrespect
and you hate being asked to be "politically correct".

Then one day came a savior shining brighter than the sun.
His name was Donald Trump and you knew he was the one.
You knew you must support him 'cause in every speech he'd give,
he'd validate your hate and he'd fit with your narrative.

"The Mexicans are rapists", "The Muslims seek to ****",
"Black lives don't matter quite so much". Such thoughts gave you a thrill.
Sometimes he was outrageous. You could not trust every word,
but vote for him you did because you felt you had been heard.

Well, now your man's in power and it's no longer fun,
with half his staff revolting (and that's in more ways than one).
He hasn't drained the swamp, it's just become further bogged down,
with all his slimy yes-men there to praise the orange clown.

He comes across as ignorant and looking like a fool.
He's subject to fact-checking and resulting ridicule.
The press, it has a field day and comedians rejoice.
His opponents have united and have found a common voice.

Dear Trumpists, I do understand that this has made you mad,
but sense and reason don't support the notions that you've had.
So you rant on social media with foul, insulting fits,
like a bunch of whining, shouting, howling, idiotic twits.

So Trumpists, don't you realize, your chance has passed you see?
Oppression has been in decline since the end of slavery.
So here's a new idea that I'd really like to share:
You might try something different by showing that you care.

Why don't you go extend a hand to those that you attack.
They might provide you insight that you desperately lack.
Just open up your heart and head and throw away the hate,
and America once more could be a nation that is great.

Trump, he seems to make a point of stirring up the ***.
He makes outrageous statements, thus making tempers hot.
He seems to like upsetting people so they shout or cry.
It all seems so unnecessary, so I'd ask him, WHY?

These last few days he hurried out an immigration ban,
without due consultation that would craft a solid plan.
He could have sought out some advice - something that he should try,
but he believes he knows it all, which makes no sense. So, WHY?

His words and actions seem to make him look like a buffoon;
a caricature cut out from some political cartoon.
If he'd provide a reason through intelligent reply,
there'd be no need to scratch our heads and keep on asking, WHY?

He seems to hate minorities and some religious groups.
This brings about division and rallies all the troops.
This could lead to a new world war where millions would die.
Where does he think he's taking us and, more important, WHY?

WHY doesn't he just take a moment so he can explain?
WHY can't he simply tell the truth and say what's in his brain?
WHY can't he and his followers be glad for what they've got?
Explain... Be kind... Be strong... Be smart. For heaven's sake, WHY NOT?

Donald Trump has slammed the door
on families that had to flee
from zealots who perverted faith
and turned them into refugees.

He made a list of seven lands
where free will's treated as a sin.
Their people flee to squalid camps
until a new land lets them in.

But Donald Trump has made it clear;
he hates on basis of belief.
He's stoking ignorance and fear,
inspiring terrorism's grief.

These refugees have nothing left
but hope and will to work so hard
to build a free and better life,
but now they've been locked out and barred.

What of the Muslims in the states
who patriotically defended
the land whose leader now spews hate?
Is all their hope and love now ended?

Someday, if karma catches Trump,
he'll lose it all and have to flee.
Let him experience, first-hand,
the tears of the refugee.

Nasty.
Things have started
to get nasty, people
have stopped pretending
that they are not evil

the fabric of fake nicety
has been scorched down
and we fight in the face of
a wrinkled green gremlin

whose name is many
whose language is disgust
whose heart is sealed shut
whose pride is gleaming ****

Disgusting.*
How did we get here? we
huddled, tired, hungry & poor
standing at her pale jade door
being told we’re a liability

pushed out of homes we own
and families we’ve raised
to the streets, making noise
fighting though we’re so tired

It’s how they want us—
tired from years of fighting,
too tired to keep on.
But we’ll never stop.

Though their name is many,
ours is more. The teeming
multitudes arise to take

his place. We protest. We resist.

Nasty.
The gloves are off,
and we persist.

My statement is only that you respect
those Gypsies that gave you comfort,
because God only knows what a silly wreck
this has been, to allow them to deport.
Where was justice back yesterday?
Why did you not move or act?
Was it because you had not any dismay,
or because you don't know the facts?
How ***** nilly can a person be
before they are abandoned completely
and left alone to become a dream,
but remain, in a pretend treaty.
by reality, (bye intellect) and by themselves?
It doesn't really matter they always seem to sell.
...THE STRUGGLE...

What does your heart know?
          how does your heart feel?
why do you deny your heart?
the call, calling, the feeling that calls you to purpose...

...Jihad?
Tell me,
is projection
of weakness?

Enough,
to stop
actions of
a strength?
1.5 billion Muslims. Maybe we should start thinking about their needs? If God loves his people why would he want a Holy War that kills them all?
