my love, life is enormous

life is a creature with eight tails and six heads
life devours suns for breakfast and eats moons for desserts

you and I are the specks it feeds upon,
and at the same time it feeds us,
so life is made of people: friends, enemies,

loved ones,

so, love, life cannot be lived without people.
life cannot be lived without living all it has to offer

because life is enormous.
it is a creature
with more hearts than tails or heads
written while crying on the phone with my significant other who, at the time, seemed just about ready to break up with me. some edits were made and feedback would be very much appreciated.

Fill me up with all the smiles that you stole
Pour me a full cup even though I'm not whole
Make me remember all the stories of what used to be
Give me blurry visions of the things I want to see
Show me the memories of loves' past flash by
Wait for me as I once again ask why
Straighten the road that still remains broken
Fuel the light that once was ever so golden
Remind me that loving you was never my completion
Trust that it was just a plus to my destination
Walk with me as I seek the path through whatever weather
Know that even though we passed, you'll be with me forever

Glass renders it silent,
its movements make sweet music.
Its song remains unshared
until someone, the window, opens.

small logging towns aren’t a place for acorns
the clay soil can only hold pine
acorns get lost here
covered under mud
stepped over and on by steel toed boots
watered by only the rain
no nurturing hand to help
not a place for an acorn at all

escape is a crow
snatching the nut in its beak
flying over mountains and rivers
eventually dropping the nut
descending down to a city park

here the soil is just right
mulch and compost
water comes once a day
like clockwork
feet step around
a good place to take root

in this nurturing place
a few years down the road
branches grew sturdy
bark is thick
leaves block out the sun
birds make nest here
children climb
picnics take place below

to the acorns delight
they've grown into a place
where others can thrive

The night was long.
the air was cool
i had my earbuds in and i drift away
i start to sway with the breeze
the music just takes me away
My movements swift
as i move to the song whispering in my ears
It pulses and moves
Alive, the beat of the song its heart
The rhythm its movements twisting and turning
My body transported i am part of this creature
It move with my dance steps the tempo increasing
I am wild as a tiger
I am as docile as a mouse
I am elegant as a princess
I have grown a pair of wings
I sigh as the song starts to fade
Its beautiful song ends bringing me back to
reality.

As i move gracefully through the flow
I forget everything, I let myself go
To the music, feeling the beat
The magic is here, enchanting my feet

I whirl slowly around the room
My pointe shoes hurt but I focus on the tune
Practicing hard for the show
Moving my body high and low

When you feel sad, dance they say
Me, I should dance every day
A soul expression, it's from the heart
Dance through the darkness, this is my art

Secret dancer at times, yes, maybe
Hiding myself so others can't see
Terrified at times of outside perception
After many years of harsh introspection

But the show must go on, wind, rain or shine
And If I keep on dancing, I'll be just fine
