Take a breath.

Smell the roses,
or whatever other flower
might be blooming
around you.

This is where
you wanted to be once,
and this is where
you’ll want to be again
one day.

Want to be here now,
surrounded by roses.x

Zen
breeze on the water
leaves my stillness undisturbed
moves my reflection
A 5-7-5 poem.

Life can exact a heavy toll
Unless you pay heed to your whole;
Your mind, your body and your soul!

Has instant gratification
Been the ruination
Of an entire generation?
Did meeting this need but foment
A strong sense of entitlement
Much to our children's detriment?
How many have not grown to learn
That what one wants, what one might yearn
One has to work for; has to earn?
When this poison seed we have sown
And nurtured becomes fully grown,
The blame is ours and ours alone!

Watching my own show,
my inner critic gives it a one star,
but what does she know?
Why can’t I be the critic to my inner critic?
You don’t own me, you’re pathetic!
I give you an F for telling me everything I can’t do...
I hate you,
and all your stupid reviews!
You stop me and make fun of everything I want to do!
Why can’t you go find a new host,
because you and I will never be close!
I want to hang you out to dry
on the nearest close line
and lie that everything will be just fine..
Then you’ll know what it’s like...
I’m done with you get out of my head,
I’m going to bed.

I saw how bright the sun is
as I opened the window
Time moves in different pace
I checked and we had to go
I drove along the road and thought
“how can the days go by so fast?”
And behind that was the reminiscent chances we missed
For one day we might not open our eyes again
So take every opportunity in sight
I promise to cherish every second of my breath
No one will pause to reset things
We live in the moment called present
Nothing can take you back
to the place you’ve been in.
Oh dear just eat, drink, and sleep
you can do more even if they forbid
Did I manage to be more kind to my foe?
For what I do today will change tomorrow.
The longest hours passed;
And oh, the night came at last.
A collaborated Poem

this is actually my first time doing a collaboration poem.
And thanks to my sister

The type of poetry that we made is a

Floating and flowing without ever knowing
Gloating and showing without ever going
Bloating and slowing our repetitive rowing
Coating and mowing instead of regrowing

We drift downstream as if in a dream
Sometimes we glint, sometimes we gleam
Other times we pay a toll
Yet we are never in control

We can struggle against the currents
Test the limits of our endurance
Or we can learn to selflessly flow
We can begin to gracefully let go

The pain won’t stay
So long
See you in May
Just not today, myself to betray
Lose myself indulging in what’s not spoken
Losing grip of the entirety of this moment
The only regrets I have are the ones that make her upset
is this a phase
false love to praise?
am i insane?
insecurities i can't restrain
is this a test?
one I can't retake?
is this a game?
one I cannot play?
when will it pay?
in debt til I decay
what should I say?
it's wrong to hate
the obvious is said
complications in my head
resulting in my death
it's life or lead
but what's to complain at the end when I wake up in a bed
Breanna evans Dec 2018
in the now,
my feet are planted
so I don’t take my time for granted

I breathe new life
as my expression
and passions have been resurrected

so energized
restored, I sit
my inner fire has been lit

and in my heart,
the fires rage
expelling darkness in my way

now vibrations
in my throat
are of a much more pleasing tone

an open doorway
to my mind
now calmly rests between my eyes

and straight from source
a light shines down
it’s energies into my crown

all systems go
transfer complete
now I can take on anything
“Meditate. Let the light of the heart engulf you.”
