I shred the beets.
Heads of red flicks in the bowl
parged of white now rosé, blushes.
To say the word properly is to nestle the
tongue in the church of the mouth the nave
of clucks tucked under the roof of the palate to
squeeze conjoined shushes and birch noises.
To steam to steep
with the lazy roil of the soup.
Do you recall the crunch of the snow outside our dacha?
The days where ice coated crusts cut
galoshes
sloshed.
The tureen beckons with its fractures.
To predict the future merely gaze into the soup.
How is this to see
a winter of bread and shavings
of fibers sewn rough
of tough, tough coughs that spray rose
petals in the dawn?
Some of my favorite poems are Russian - one in particular Я Вас любил by Pushkin still enchants me. It's a heady poem of deep emotion. This is a vegetable-based tribute.

loving you is like spilling gold out of my veins, like rose hips soft and shivering under warm fingertips. being yours is you being mine, but always reaching for you to be more.

in my stomach are glistening oceans, and my swallowed pride the size of vicodin pills. a small town girl's high on love and laying in her bed.

lilting laughter/lovely lights/revival of language & direction/return of lucid daydreams

you are my first thought when i wake, and my last when i fall asleep. i'm so very in love with you. the more days i spend being your girl, the more i want to be with you.

i always want to be where you are. my head on your shoulder, you rest your head on top of mine. we're holding hands, and it's like we fold into each other like russian dolls.

You're light and bubbly, intoxicating.
I drink you in,
and it goes straight to my head.
Inhaling your breath
I'm higher than
the mountains I would climb to
get my fix of you.
Your side of the bed hasn't even cooled
and I need more of you,
just one more kiss,
one more minute.
Just. One. More.

It's the grey of the sky
That takes my breath away
It's the blue of the day
That's stolen by the rain

it's the thirsty lake that is replenished with every drop
The smile of the clouds that darken their gaze
Or the misty aura that wraps up your skin
It's the way you're lost in the haze

And once it has drizzled it starts to pour
The winds came up and brushed us with hail
But then the ice softens when it touches the ground
The world might be strong but it's already frail

its the people.
The people who hold their hands high as the drought drowns in their prayers
For finally we've been blessed with rain
It's the children who watch in awe as they're wrapped up in layers

It's the way the world watches as the sky cries
It's the way the way everyone's umbrellas are furled
No matter how busy anyone could be
We all can say what a wonderful world
As you hum the tune to what a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong

When her hair flows out the window,
it's just much different,
in this difficult reality is a curse we all
follow,
and live in,
her beautiful spirit is the only thing
that drives me sane,
when I can't maintain,
putting eyes on her pain
and the flaws that a blind man can see,
we could all feel the strain,
thinking out loud but too sure of myself,
that maybe one day we'll get married on
a beach,
giving up faith,
I bless the day I met you,
Hearts in your eyes,
Measure of time with no wealth,
but love at first sight,
I'm suffocating,
I'm out of breath,
a love with no help,
an army at your finger tips,
non of the men can kiss your lips like i can,
I can,  I will,
be the one to fulfill,
desires were always ordeal.

Our world is beautiful
If you stop and truly view it
Even with all the violence and anarchy
The grass still remains a lush green
And the water continues to flow

The fruits grow ever riper
With the starry night shining so bright
The animals live together interdependent
In blissful harmony
Given no choices otherwise; simple LIVING

OUR WORLD IS BEAUTIFUL

IF WE STOPPED RUINING IT SO
WITH OUR POLLUTION AND DESTRUCTION
                                                                                 *
FOR TRULY IN THIS HEAVENLY PLANET

*WE ARE THE PARASITES LEECHING IT OF LIFE.
The starry lit clouds
shy and shinny
captured on the
nearby cherry tree branches

reflected your Apollo locks glitter
you pressed me on a barren trunk
your torso became a burning tree
trying to cool in a pond full of lava

Your tongue played rose~***
mary magic ~on white satin hills.
My back hurt a bit, scratched,
the blouse finger blown, open.

And then. . . the real tempo started to begin. . .

I keep you as a friend yet we’ve broken up
I get all choked up with every new post of
You and your fiancé in my news feed
My feelings are chicken feed and it’s all my fault
I know I have to stop
But I can’t bring myself to let go of this insatiable need to still need you
I feel if I let go I'll lose you
And all the memories of me and you
Despite how we ended
When I think about us I’m a lush
Because what we had was special
But...
While I sit reminiscing on what used to be
You’re busy moving forward with your life
Focusing on your new wife and being happy

Broken down cars on one lane highways driving fast to the middle of nowhere.
Empty bottles in the backseat with a sleeping bag waiting for my head to hit the ground.

I lost control and I ran away to the highest mountains I could see.
But decided the mountains were to high and went to the blue sea.

I lost my mind and followed it down the rabbit hole in the lush green gardens of eve.
Where forbidden fruit decided it didn't have to try to tempt me & I ate the trees clean.

Broken down cars on empty back roads leading me to abandonment and disappointment.
Drowning my fears staring at the empty bottles in my shaking hands.

I'm losing control and running away to the east coast where my heart still lives.
I'm saying goodbye to the west hoping the humidity welcomes me with open arms.

I'm losing my mind in the idea that one day I'll find us behind a picket fence and a lake so calm.
Where the fruit on the trees frowns stronger with  each passing of love.

But let's be real.... I'm just losing my mind.
