cozy and warm tucked into your bed
cloud filled pillows glide beneath your head
glowing twilight slowly night time falls
sweetly dreamland blissfully calls
a yawn and a stretch you start to doze
eyelids heavy begin to close
feeling relaxed from your fingertips to your toes
sandman sprinkles magic fairy dust on your nose
under the moon shining bright
drifting serenely floating light
twinkling silvery sky filled stars
illuminating rings of Saturn, earth and mars
wrapped securely in the arms of love
safely watched over from up above
guardian angels white beautiful wings
harps and trumpets heaven gracefully sings
universal harmony tranquil peace
blesses you with the most gorgeous sleep
wondrous lucidity world of possibilities
colorful streams of rainbow dreams
Lullaby
Matt Bernstein Apr 2019
Raise the flag!
The lucky lost
fighting waves of inky stars.

Sleepless soldiers
on silent streets,
waging war on the wild and wistful.

Fall in line,
learn our song!
These ragged ranks have room for all.

So long as dreams ne'er come
and nightmares run,
we will whisper our violent lullabies.

Let me speak your name,
tune birds sung for centuries—
my morning lullaby
Do y’all pronounce lullaby as two or three syllables? I say it in two but my friend says it as three but we’re gonna pretend it’s two so this poem works. My dad’s from upstate so he says a lot of things pretty weird, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an upstate thing tbh

Sing me to sleep,
Lull me into a dream,
So I can be at rest
At last.

A melody so soothing,
A harmony so comforting,
Tone so gentle,
Relaxing my ever anxious mind,
Bringing me to an eased state of mind.

Every night
I wait till 4 AM
when the moon comes
to my part of the sky
and illuminates my windowsill
with her silver light

Lunar radiance
lulls me slowly
I listen to the soft song
with closed eyes
sung by the southern breeze
like gentle wind chimes

The dead letters of Sleep
finally arrive at my postbox desolate
but not long before the neon dial starts screaming,
"IT'S TOO LATE! IT'S TOO LATE!"

It's too late..
On team insomnia we don't believe in sleep.

"Physically" flawless,
makes people be so shameless.
Mentally madness,
because love is the craziest.
Through the sky and the moon,
There are so many beautiful things,
Some of it I couldn't understand,
and some of it not even "shine".

When the night cover the blue sky,
Billions of stars are "blooming",
Billions of thoughts are coming,
And makes me thinking,

"Wish i could count all the stars and all my scars".

Its just at the end of the day,
Let's just put a fullstop for the day cause tomorrow is waiting,
Till the eyes close,
May all the thoughts be my "lullaby".

Little pink ribbons
Locked in a man-made prison
Accumulate dust.

I have not forgotten

The lullabies in their shadows.
Tea with too much sugar
Mom’s high heels with bows on the toes
& always a little too much room.

now ***,
a few too many sleeping pills,
stilettos with red soles.

blister forming
Near the heart.
this is a rough draft of an idea I came up with when sleep deprived. constructive criticism is welcome!

I dreamt a dream but when the night was young,
And the moonlight sang lullabies, that doves-
Fair-feathered slept to,while boughs at guard hung,
Like a lover stands eyeing her, he loves.

I dreamt a dream that I had discovered,
In the most unexpected of places,
In epiphanic manner uncovered,
The true possessor of divine graces.

There was a chant that I heard in the dream,
That made me, unknowingly, pledge my soul;
Thus, 'To thee,to thee' did I sing and scream,
And woke up,as if released on parole.

(Later.)

Queen Mab,yet again blessed me at hour wee,
And O, did I dream? And what did I see?
Liebestraum means 'Love Dream'.
Inspired by Liebestraum No. 3 in A Flat Major by Liszt.
