I stood before the mirror,
Thinking how much I have changed.
While the world is turning back on you…
What were you doing all this time?
Why give up now, when I have you, I thought…
When I already know my flaws, why let others point it out…
Suddenly I straightened my back seeing how dazzling I look through the mirror…

Do I love them?
Or do I need validation for my poor choices.
Loving seems so hard
when love doesn't seem to come to you first
engulf those mirrored possibilities of who comes first.
Can I get to the finish line when I'm stuck at the start.

People say we were never meant to fall in love
Because we taught each other to hate the real us.
I say, we were meant to be,
In order to realise the worth of loving ourselves.
Notes from a toxic relationship.
OWE
I owe myself way more than I owe to any body else.

I am created to see the beauty in you,
But sometimes I wonder if it's still true.
Your eyes, your nose, the color of your skin - everything about you is perfect.
However, your thoughts differ from what I reflect.

I am made to show you how extraordinary you are,
How your features set you apart.
You are who you are - there's nothing bizarre!
You're a masterpiece, a finely crafted work of art.

Sadly, I'm just here to portray - to be an aid,
Hanged on a wall and be displayed.
At the end of the day, I ask you this question:
Are you truly happy or is it all just deception?
What if a mirror could talk? What would it say? In this poem, I imagined a personified mirror.

The reflection at birth was exotic.
Over the years
one has become colour blind.
A prisoner...
A prisoner of losing one's self in a monochromatic world.
