Take my hand guide me through this crowded room, dance me to the end of love. and I will lead you into this beautiful dance called us . Mr. Cohen told me the future is ******, but I am trying to live into now. See the crumbling obstacles and tear them down. I was falling and I felt your hand reach out, but that is old news now. Ill take you in my arms, and embrace what life is now.

I see the yellow brick road
Right infront of me,
I dont know where it ends
And I don't know where it leads,
One foot infront of the other,
But alwas a step behind,
I walk down the yellow road,
But forgot to read the sign.

If i had
What then?
Would I still walk the path,
Keep going 'till the end?
Or would I turn around,
And slowly walk back home,
Or would i face the the trouble,
To find a place where I belong?
Just impro writing- might work more on it later

Throughout my life,
All the adults would tell me-
Follow your heart
Follow your dreams

But what I really wanted to hear was
**You know what, Megan?
Forget about following,
How about you lead?

If you know low life and royalty
If you know how both of these work
If you have experienced both enough
You are blessed. You are blessed.

If you learn selfishness and also know selflessness
If you know which one to practice
If you know to see everything as an event
You are blessed. You are blessed.

If you can stay with the crowd.
And practice their idiosyncrasy
And if you still be yourself
You are blessed. You are blessed.

If you mingle with the crowd.
At the same time, stand out,
If you know to keep virtue while;
Being non-virtuous then,
You are blessed you are blessed.

If you practice all traits of men
And if that doesn't affect your self
If you still are unaltered
You are blessed, you are blessed.

If you know the fine line
Which separates habit from addiction
If you can manage to he safe
You are blessed you are blessed.

You lead me on
Oh, so cruel,
You told me I was the one
But you knew it wasn't true

My self worth is gone
Lost in the dawn
And its all because of you
If only you had
just told the truth

What do I do now?
You were my world
I guess I should get over you
But how?

Feelings can't be
gone overnight
If only I hadn't
Entered your sight
I guess now-
All I can do is write
And I'm not going to stop
not until my
fingers are white

They say never look back but I do because that's where my shadow quietly follows, needing not to be noticed.
And if no one else stands by my side, or behind me for that matter... if no one else blindly follows in my lead, then I pray the sun never leaves and burns me constantly.

As the daily news  I was reading,
Here is the story that was leading,
Zombie spider slaves, wasp masters dictating,
Subsidised fake spider skills,
Wasp masters must be getting their thrills,
I sense an allegory,
Like humanity's history,
Teeming ants in a global rat race,
Pleasing some master's lack of grace.
Same scenario, different day,
Till you retire and fade away,
Who, indeed, are our wasp masters?
Come on, humans, work much faster,
Don't you forget to hurry,
Or wasp masters shall give you curry!

As the daily news  I was reading,
Is there no other news for leading?
Yes, allegory I was perceiving.
Inspired by daily news, feedback welcome.

Those who neither choose
To lead nor follow,
Lead themselves to a new path
And follow it eventually.

You quickly approach
A puddle of mud
Small enough to step over
But you thought it'd be fun
To splish and splash
And make a mess
But it's dirtied your face
And ruined your dress

You stomp out of the puddle
It has ruined your day
You look back in anger
And head on your way

But what is to blame here,
The action or trouble?
The mud or the splashes?
The person or puddle?

Don't walk into mud
Then complain of the mess
If you want to stay clean
Just watch where you step

Not all, but many outcomes
Are up to us
So be careful that your actions
Will lead to what you want

Nothing but your words
Float in my head

Nothing but your words
Heavy as lead

Nothing but your words
Hang by a thread

Nothing but your words
Fill me with dread
A poem about overthinking and social anxiety.
