My lullaby too high

For you to hear,
for a whole **** year.
Eventually it comes out,
out of your shower tiles like grout.

"Can I be close to you?"
This poem is inspired by The Paper Kites' song "Bloom"! I definitely recommend listening to it.

Everytime he's around,
My heart pounds.
Oh my love,
You make my mind peaceful as the dove.

When I'm with him,
I could nearly scream.
I've fallen from his eyes
He gave me those butterflies

When I'm with him,
My world gleams
From dim.
Miles apart
But still, you have my heart.
Hi A.R.M :) I wanna tell my feelings for you but instead I made a poem 'cause I'm too coward to confess it to you. Thank you for inspiring me.

Many a time and oft
Hath you been so real to me,
To anyone and yourself? Nay,
This passion will bear no colour.

For it were a burlesque
Apt to be render'd, for me to write
In this kind, by means
To finally acknowledge you.

If I had been a man,
I would ope my doublet, and
I might hath offer'd you this,
But where art thou?

Am I yourself, but as in sort
Of talking to you sometimes?
I have not seen you set me down
Even 'tis just an especial crony.

Tut I am not in your bosoms
But I know wherefore you do it.
Dwell not in the suburbs of London,
As you might see your shadow.

When I think of pain, my mind wonders to you,
Because for you, pain is not something shiny brand new,
My mind always wonders to you

When I think of strength, my mind wonders to you,
In your resolve to scrape pain away like old mildew,
My mind always wonders to you

When I think of happiness, my mind wonders to you,
In your sunflower smile and floral rose gold tinted view
My mind always wonders to you

When I think of hope, my mind wonders to you,
Your flora brought sunlight when I thought it taboo,
My mind always wonders to you

When I think of Holy God, my mind wonders to you,
Because you gave me the bridge to see Yahweh in me too,
My mind always wonders to you

When I think of love, my mind always wonders to you,
In the way you have your heart is so open and see-through,
My mind always wonders to you

When I think of caring hands, my mind wonders to you,
Because I see the way you love in radiant red with no ocean blue,
My mind always wonders to you

When I think of resolve, my mind wonders to you,
How you connect the dots and attach people like glue,
My mind always wonders to you

When I think of faith, my mind wonders to you,
I nearly lost mine but you held onto me with your glue,
My mind always wonders to you

When I think of you, my most beloved friend,
I bless God in your name, our journey is not the end,
Because my mind always wonders to you.
For Aleah, my rock, my truest friend in this harsh world we call a life. She is the most caring, loving, and genuine person I've had the pleasure of knowing. She changed me for the better.

I need to say what's on my mind before I leave this life behind.
When I'm gone, please don't cry too much
I'll still be with you even if you can't feel my touch
I want to thank you for changing my life for the better.
You inspired me to be a better man.
And as I make my peace, just remember I will always be your biggest fan.

The reason why I look away when
I notice his blue eyes gazing at me

Is that I am afraid if I stared into
them for too long I will drown

Now that he is gone,
I long to drown

THE POWER OF BELIEVE..
drowning he was
Falling he was..
Losing sanity he was..
Derailed he was..
Frustrated he was..
Confused he was.
Lost he was.
Deserted he was..
Buried he was...
And the slanderers rejoiced..
Thinketh they..
Never will he rise again...
Then he felt a paradigm shift..
A shift like none other..
A shift accompanied by everything benevolent...
It is,  the slanderers whispered, a phantom bone disease..
Let they wander and dawdle for they are steeped in a quagmire of visibility lest a veil is upon all their sensory nerves, depriving them the beauty and the quintessence of the invisible...
But he is/has...
No more drowning, but drinks from the fountain of knowledge,
Spiced with milk and honey..
No more falling but floating in void..
No more losing sanity but unravelled the mystery of true sanity..
No more derailed but dandified...
No more frustrated but ferociously inspired..
No more confused but concentrated..
No more lost in darkness but guided by light..
No more deserted..
No more Buried but sprouted..
Now..
El magnifico... He is..
The power of believe...

~A parody inspired by "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost~

Two drunks converged in a crowded bar
And sorry that I knew them both
And be one patron, long I stared
Looking out for each I really cared
As both of them bent I swore an oath;

I helped the one, and deemed it fair
He having perhaps the better claim
His eyes more glassy and worse for wear
Though the other also was passed out there
In reality both wasted about the same.

And both next morning equally lay
In heaps their missteps left them in.
Oh, I wished them both a better day!
Yet knowing how wine can make you stray,
I concluded they both would repeat their sin.

Forever I’ll be telling this with a sigh
Everywhere ages and ages hence:
Two drunks converged in a bar, and I—
I helped the one most weakened by,
Stirred but not shaken in diffidence.

2/24/2020 - Poetry form: Parody - A parody inspired by "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost. The title may remind you of 007, James Bond's penchant for martinis. Bond's preference was "shaken, not stirred" and reversed it for my title. Now you know the method to my madness ;) - © 2020 by Mark Toney. All rights reserved.

HEAR the quiet sea
SEE the man looking for me
ME hiding from him
HIM with simple eye
AYE his words I hear
HEAR the quiet sea

THINK the time has come
COME take life's water free
FREE yourself from sin's grip
GRIP hold of the real life
LIFE everlasting at last
LAST days require us to think
THINK the time has come

LISTEN to words inspired and true
TRUE faith follows the thing heard
HEARD faith without works is dead
DEAD we are to our former sins
SINS forgiven by means of Christ
CHRIST one to whom we must listen
LISTEN to words inspired and true
