We are more
Than the clothes that we wear
Than the skin around our bones
Than the thoughts in our heads

We are souls
Beings with light and darkness
Beings with heart and mind
Beings with complexities in all aspects

We are human
We bleed, we cry, we suffer
We heal, we laugh, we learn
We grow and change

We are
Simply and complexly
What we are

Late nights and early mornings, the mind goes wild.

Look at the city from above
See how the towers of power
Cast shadow to the rabble
Cowering below

All these fields, stained dry, rusted brown
Gathered crowds are a ghost town
Disillusioned mental state of mass confusion
Factory made man

This free prison is a stretch of highway
With roads determined and paved
Two directions
Places you will never go, and the place you were always headed

Baby, it's me who taught you how to love
Out by the docks. On the Puget, where we found Sound
For all our secret thoughts.
Deep into the night, slurring silence, sipping wine
We let our feelings talk. A disheveled bed
               Was heaven then
The door was hell, comin' round the bend. Baby,
It was me who taught you how to love,
And it was you who taught me how to stop.

I knew already
what has again been proven
that people are kind
and human kindness is moving

After all the hurt and trials

they reach out
with velvet hands
to carress a small dog
their voices hightened
to make it wag its tail

they smile back brightly
the child in each of them
still thriving
as they look out to the world
in curiosity and wonder

they open up their hearts
so easily so willingly
as if family means much more
than what it says on the tin

and flustered
they take compliments
and share their wisdom
with eyes and minds full of story

Such small things
really make you wonder
how we could create war
when there's beauty in our core
Guess the city taught me more than the smallness of my existence, huh?

I am a blue planet,
My home is the universe.
I am a part of the solar system,
Revolving around the fiery sun.

I rotate on my own axis,
Only to give you day and night.
I walk on an oval path,
Just to give you season and climate.

I have my own luxury,
In the form of water, land, air and life.
I have my own children,
Named as plant, human, animal and microbe.

I provide them everything,
Whether it's food, water or home to live.
I provide them all resources,
Clean and pure air to breathe.

I give my everything to them,
Yet, they are expecting more.
They are so hungry of  their desires,
That they are not hesitating even to hurt me.

How long can I bear the troubles?
Now, I just want to cry on myself.
I am now suffocating in my own family,
Just need to relax in my mother's lap.

I am your mother EARTH,
What're you doing to me?
I have enough for your every need,
But yet, you're killing me slowly in your useless greed. . .
we all know our earth is getting sick and polluted day by day.. hour to hour.... it's facing so many challenges to survive just because of us... so this poem is an appeal to save our mother earth....
she has these hazel-coloured eyes
with a tip of hope,
it‘s like visiting another universe,
dreaming through a telescope.

she carries mother earth in her iris,
but her element is fire

she stands strong through her roots
and is grounded in nature
oh dear, what a beautiful creature

she feels home
between palm trees and sunsets,
where the skies of the world align,
where they shine
in a warm orange light.
and trust me,
these green-coloured eyes
will set all your worries aside.

I look at city lights
in the distance
They flicker
but quickly come back
and I feel that someone
somewhere understands
while the night air
awakens my warm skin
It gives us hope
new life
I could be catching up on sleep, but the world sometimes needs to be admired

You
In my chest
I carry your pain.
In my eyes
I see your light.
A newborn star,
Your youth is treasure,
A nebulae,
Your wisdom is dynamite.

My love for you is innate, instinctual.
I have hope your future will be bright.
Your beauty surpasses the physical,
You are unlike any creature in sight.

In my head I hear your thoughts,
And with my arms
I will hold you tight.
A baby bud,
Your cry is powerful.
A willow tree,
you stand firm with might!

I don't have to do this
But I can't let this escape me.
We don't cave in
And look for a hideaway
We don't capitulate
And let things fade away.
We renew our spirit,
We renew ourselves,
We renew our world.
We rekindle our inalienable desire
To leave free
And to maintain our freedom
Wherever we set foot
And against all odds.
When and where
It is unavoidable
we answer the call to safeguard
Our humanity,
Protect children and women
And fight for peace.
We push all limits to establish civilizations
In the most uncharted territories;
We ***** cities, towns, and states,
We build countries
Across wilderness and unruly seas;
We proudly raise our flags,
Symbol of the greatness of the human mind.
I don't have to do this
But I can't let this escape me.
It must be said in unison:
Let's make poetry great again.
