You kept pushing her away,
When she needed you the most.
And now that she has hugged the pain,
She has learnt to live without you.
When happiness takes you for granted.

and what was most surprising
was when you picked me up
by every piece
and hugged me
just the same
im sorry if i cut you
Mrs Anybody Jul 2020
she hid
her tears
behind
closed doors
and
a mask of attitude

but wanted
nothing more
than someone
to understand
and
a hug

Need no *****, need no drug,
what I need is just a hug.

Boring routine, unexciting WFHs,
Sitting all day on computer,
just gaining weight and cursing China,
puzzled head coding and solving bug,
what l need is just a hug.

Missing the taste of Biryanis,
all those extra cheese pizzas,
above all that exotic street food and chai,
Even a simple bottle of beer.
**** this Virus is a real ****.
Need no fast food, need no *****,
Still, what I need is just a hug.

I need you close,
I need you here,
just beside me near,
spread your arms, cover me like a shrug,
I just need the warmth of your hug.

The day you passed away,
I couldn't see the sky.
Too many tears fell from my eyes.
But they weren't tears of grief.
They were tears of relief.
Because even though
I'd never be able to hug you
As you walked through the door,
I knew you weren't in pain anymore.

A hug is a husk
that wraps the flesh tight
and ties the two hearts -
one on the right,
the other on the left,
beating solidly on both sides,
balanced and complete.

Feeling trapped
no way out
it’s comfortable though
no more fighting
so I give in
give up
I’m trapped
but it’s in your arms
x May 2020
i crave your touch
and the safety of your arms around me,
engulfing me into your being,
surrounding me with your warmth
and encapsulating me in a moment with you.
9 weeks without hugs from him
