Hello there busy Bee
Buzz around and pollinate this tree
Oh! And make some sweet honey for Me!
Lilly F Apr 2020
you were my spring honey
the aftertaste of your lips dripped from my own
from my chin down my neck,
leaving yellow streaks
slowly choking the air out of my lungs
suffocating me with your sweet affection
i think we may need a break

it's been longer than i'd like to admit
since i last heard your voice
with your uncanny ability
to turn my blood into liquid gold.
i can no longer hear you
calling my name,
but i can still taste the honey
that poured from your lips
as i drowned in each sacred kiss.
- i can still feel you when i sleep.
When I said my vows,
I spoke them from my heart.
I took your hand in mine
And kissed the world goodbye.

I bade goodbye to all
That I no longer needed
To lies, betrays, and hurt
That heart my knew indeed.

I listened to your vows
They were so honey-sweet.
But little did I know
That they were not to keep.

milk and honey
on your lips
your perfume
sweet and soft
a milky bath
soak it in
dripping from my skin
taste it on your tongue
warm in my arms
sticky and smooth
like the way you make me feel

Soft days of wistful timelessness
Iridescent wings outside my window
The smell of honeysuckle so thick you can taste it
Red berries stain my lips
Your fingers in my mouth, sticky
I hum with the magic of freedom
With the audacity of leaving the cold, hard, buildings of success
For warm honey moons and foxglove dreams
Sponge cake afternoons and bare feet on cool wood decks
Unrestrained laughter and ukulele strings
A harmony that bends and then corrects itself
The music and rhythm of a slow life, unbound.

they call it the honeymoon stage
as it's supposed to taste sweet
but why does mine taste like
a different kind of bitter?
choices were made, but were those the right kind?
