Monkey bars
Hold on
Do not let go

I climb high
To hold you close
But it takes all my strength
So I let go
Knut Kalmund Jul 2020
I pull, I pull
it’s a starry, gloomy night
the stars gaze above my steaming head
but they don’t shine for me

while I stand at a sea
a sable, sludgy, shining sea
reflecting the stars
that don’t shine for me

I pull and I pull
something resists, the mildewed thread quivers
a hand, scar-strewn, thin and exanimately pallid
i wonder where she summones the strength

maybe I’m just a weak man
when a faint, scratchy voice calls me
among afloating bubbles
tells me to release

I suppose I have an apology
To the loved one whom I didn’t know,
The soft anchor that I couldn’t let go.

I will hold your hand, even as I drown
In an ocean, all alone.

Oh if it's true that only love can make a home
then why is it, when I'm surrounded, I feel so alone?
And if a set of walls and a roof don't mean a thing

I'm tired
It feels like everything I once held dear
it slowly fades away
Give me soms quiet
and let the moments turn to memories of those early summer days.

bound amid every flower
to hold her close

he holds my hand
and spends the night
chasing after dying stars
he smiles
falling for the moon
Savor the taste of medicine only to be drunk by the few.
Incented by the scent of a peace that few will know, and fewer hold.

Bittersweet blossoms fold to the earth in showery haze,
He cries of days long gone. Relishing the birth of memory's daze.
Praying for the pill to find the end of his endless sound.

Astounded, he lays:
Two way mirror perception, but with no reflection.
Expectations drive the nail deeper into false perfection's mentions of a better way.

Deeper, so the bittersweet blossoms may bloom,
And pretend to be the medicine to be drunk by the few.
The few we hold will hold the peace we don't
