This town holds secrets
Don't you know?
Between the houses and their lawns,
Between the market square and suburbs,
Between the forest and the parks.
A mystery lingers
Like unsettling fog
Suffocating, deadly, murderous.
The longing silence
That draws exhales from townsfolk.
The rolling winter
That fills their hearts with dread.
For the creatures of the mountains
Come down to the haunted town
Drawing blood on sidewalks
To satisfy their frozen hunger.
The people tape their windows
And blind themselves with scissors
For they cannot bear to see the horrors.
Each season, a part of town shrinks away
Like termites eating entire wood slowly
Devouring the taste.
Soon, it will become a ruin
Uninhabited, lost in time, lonely.
What once was the American dream
Now an urban flower in a devastating jungle.
A leftover, remnant of something great, eaten away by greed,
destroyed by self hatred.
Inspired by Stephen King's novel IT and the town Derry.....

I say you'll do something soon
But for everything you seem to mind
How can this ever bloom?
Love isn't there if it is blind

Family
Is what they all say
Importance, dignity, faith

Family
Is what they provide for us
But what if that's not what I wanna discuss

I wanna feel all that love and emotion
I wanna belong not to be cautious

Don't you say something wrong
Or else they'll treat you like a dog
Don't you dare to make a wrong move
Cause they'll always find you accused

Of selfishness and pure indignity
And so they'll never let you be
The girl you wish so much to leave

You'll forever be stuck behind
In a dark room inside your mind
Locked in a cage
With walls, not even imagination can change

And you sit, and you wait
For you to find an escape
You wait and you wait
Until you realize you were the bait
Of hatred and pure anger
Not even you can handle
I need an escape

We swore on each other with false trust
The universe was chasing both of us
And no poem can ever retell
The fire in my heart from a burning hell
We're simply both moths, scavenging for the light
And we must've bumped into each other on a cold, dreary night
And when you starve, you'll eat anything
So I must've confused this nightmare with a dream
this is my 68th poem, written on 12/21/23

Avoidant of the decades
I lived in your accolades
And when I left you in the open
You left me go unspoken.

My pain is yours
To be written on all your doors
For everyone to know
Hatred is the new low.

And if I had something else to feel
I'd say it's not real
This is the new ordeal
Revenge with not much else to feel.

And in-between the praise
They don't know the man I raised.
To the main I raised.

She stepped into a garden with roses galore
She was looking for one, but just needed more

And then she found two, dazzling in sight
Whom puffed up their petals with all their might

Rose One was nostalgic and hated Rose Two
Happy moments were memorable, but only few

Rose Two was two-faced, but made her glad
All she wanted was to not be sad

She took both because she couldn’t decide
She thought she was happy, but at home she cried

She was confused, she had the rose
Was it not the right one she had chose?

Overwhelmed with sadness and pain
She knew one rose could only reign

She looked at her hands, deciding which rose would win
When she saw the thorn that had torn her bloodied skin.
This was the 11th poem I’ve ever written, created on 5/27/23

Lonely bones
Skin stuck to your muscle stones
Hold me but make me feel empty
It feels like you're loving me *****.

And why do I want to hate you
When you swear your love's true?
Look at my heart, blue
Act like you don't have
A clue.

But I can see through you
Love pretends
We can make amends
But somehow,
It always ends.

Unfortunately once I hate you
It’s infinite
It grows and furls in every space of my mind
Unfortunately once I love you
I’m bound to hate you

The magnitude of words,
Invokes to each a different response
Many use this power for evil,
And release it among the unsuspecting seeds
Still growing, now exposed to hatred.
It is then that they will decide
If their sentences will be in malice like theirs,
Or if in their hearts, repairing the reputation
Of beautiful language, is a better use
Of speech
A willful decision

the magnified, mascara applied
                                                    eyes of my skull
burn holes in my thighs
mulling over the size of this hull

i chunder my lunch and wonder of
                                                          everyone else
and if they're also laser beaming love
                                                               into themselves

or if they're boundlessly born with it
                                                              unstained smiles, strained bites
maybe they're just born with it
no pained bile or insatiable appetites

either way, i hardly
                              can infer
if my stomach is
                          half empty
                                          or half full
