Who was I to think we had something worth keeping?
Certainly not you.

But why.
We played the game.
I thought I understood the rules.
I thought you were trying to break through.

My walls oh so high
They hid the sun from you
And you saw my darkness.

In the dark you found truth.
Unable to understand it, you ran from it's grip.
Too tight around you,
the darkness is unwelcoming.

If only you knew that if you held on a little longer,
the sun was to rise and from truth love were to arise.

But you disengaged.
Saw the truth and convoluted them into lies.

Now nothing.
But a heartbroken metaphor
for I think I miss you more.

You've moved on,
naturally and genuinely.

I sat here,
stupidly.

I don't see why we can't replace bombs with confetti.
War is sick and disgusting. Killing others is plain wrong no matter the circumstances and greed is the main reason.

**** it.
Give away the food and money you don't need
Be kind and welcoming to anyone who walks your way

still angry to see
how these mofos
damaged me
apparently
i never noticed

my sacrifice
or ''Not another victim (I've always been the man)'' until I lost my muscles and heavy weight; they turned into feathers and so I fell from the staircase like a new born baby, falling and flying into the arms of a beautiful full-grown woman who whispered in my little ear 'Beware Beware' then she returned into the shadow.. and I remained alone.
To escape for a moment the flagrant mediocrity of hummdrummcommutertaxreturnquiltedjacketfilingcabinetcivilservantspellcheckingcontractsigninghandshaking, oppressively banal, repetitive, shitness of everyday (notomittingthedayindayoutsuburbanlivingwiththeparentssinglepretensiousartsstudentdogpissinginthevegetablegarden blandness of this awfulcrapshortanddissapointing) life?

POURING RAIN
I SIT UNDER THE TREE WITH MY BOOK OF LIES
TRYING TO STAY DRY
BUT THERE IS NO ESCAPE
~ DEATH IS ENDLESS ~
THE RAIN REMINDS ME OF YOU
TURNING EVERYTHING A SOFT BLUE
MY BOOK IS WET
AND ALL THE WORDS I WROTE IN PEN
THE INK HAS FORMED THEM TOGETHER
I SINK TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN
~ I AM A DEAD WEIGHT ~
NO EMOTION
I WILL LET IT SUFFOCATE ME
BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH THERES OXYGEN AROUND ME
~ I CANNOT BREATH. ~
Im screaming but no one hears me

I'm scared of the silence
                                                 It speaks to me
Of dangers and demons
                                                 And monstrous things

It's haunting my nightmares
                                                 It sings me to sleep
Turning all of my fears
                                                 Into reality

We are the forgotten ones
The ones who can articulate
beyond the guns and knifes.
We don't need a beat
Our word flow through emotionally.
We are here to capture and decipher minds
Teach them all those things school has left behind
How history is only written by the victor
How there's more to blacks than Rosa Parks, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr's his..tory.
Let's not leave out the truth.
Poets stand up, fight for the youth.
We share our truth about love
Let's share the truth about knowledge
Forget the cliches of if life gives you lemons make lemonade.
We freed ourselves from the British.
Then enslaved Africa and made them forget who they were.
Only of Britain would had thought of that first.
Let's not sugar coat the past
Let's control the present and the future.
Poets stand up
We are the symphonies of hip hop, rap and r&b;
We are the class.
We are the Billy Holliday and Marvin Gay of this new era.
Like the fitted cap we fit snugg.
Poets stand up.
**** speaking on unicorns and rainbows
The sunny side of the chi.
Just last night my Lil man's got shot by the cops.
I use to say he was my son
Now I plan his funeral with his mom.
Poets stand up
Bloods, crips, gangsters, thugs re unite as the black panthers.
Poets stand up!
Poets stand up!
As they say ok ok your 15 seconds of fame Is up. No more from you today Mr. Ananymous.
