It is downright lame
How you put all the blame
On me, whose only aim
Is not to fan the flame
That you still cannot tame.

You kinda love this game.
You shout while I remain
Silent, but it's in vain —
You nonetheless act insane.

Don't you feel the shame?
Yet I'm the one who came
To you, but now I claim:
I will not stay the same.
Right here,
right now —

I break the chain.
Some years echo,
Golden songs of prosperity,
Others trickle through.
Black liquor seas,
There's blood on these bricks,
So much happened before 1776.
Soon, we may have to light the fire again, but today, we celebrate what we've won.
Good morning USA,
How joyous am I,
To be waking in this country,
Of all the days,
The 4th of July.

As the red winged Robins pass me by,
I stare out at a spot of sunshine,
Across the hall.
Sumer time seems to fall,
With no care for my voice at all.

Soon I know these times will go,
Like our young country,
We grow out of touch.
It becomes hard to reach,
A point of sound sanity.

These late nights are all we've got,
Carnival games, shirt stains,
Twelve dollar fries!
Staring deep into your eyes,
We find silence in their cries.

Clouds of smoke wander around the house,
We keep the grill out of the way,
But peckish little hands happen to stray,
Such delicious food, so many trays!

Happy freedom day.
Happy fourth! To freedom, equality, justice, and bravery, let's celebrate America's birthday!

She speaks cannon *****
and good morning blues.
She speaks sweet lilies
and rosebuds in June.

She speaks soft
as little light beams.
She speaks rainbows
over tall evergreens.

She speaks sonnets
and low melodies.
She speaks quietly—
freedom, over me.
I stand by the river
Then strip off my flesh
Place it neatly by the trees
So the mud can digest it
For their fruitful ambitions
Then I slip down to the river
My bones soak in
The air, the wind, the land
The flesh waits as it gets eaten
By the worms
I watch it all
And shout
“Leave no crumbs behind, please!”
Then the water enters my skull
The wind takes in each bone
And kisses it bit by bit
Breathing it
And I believe I have tasted
Freedom.

The puppet said to the sun,
“Never shine upon me.”
And then it said to the clouds,
“Do not hide me from the light.”
And then it gnashed its teeth at the sky, saying,
“I never asked to be seen
I never asked to be hidden
I only asked to be free.”
Freedom is hard.

For anyone who needs to hear it
For anyone who cries at night
For anyone who who dries their tears
On saying "I'm alright"

For anyone who's in their head
And thinks they're not enough
Who worries about their body size
And ever finding love

The world is going to beat you down
To teach you to stand back up
But just because the world is cruel
It doesn't mean give up

You're so much more than your struggles
You're stronger than your grief
You're more beautiful than you'll ever know
So stand up... Use your feet

Walk right through that fire
Stand so you'll be seen
The world needs to see you glow
But just in case bring burn cream

Cold rain-showers flood the winters here.
I’ve felt bubbling cool waterfalls
touch the senses like
ruby red ***** shots shared.
Cool waterfalls, winter rain showers, sensual shots
all remind…
like
the warm shower just now—long, sensual
Pleasure
I find
Myself
finally at peace with the water
(when fibers grip as muscles pulse
and water falls)
a heart throb? or break? so close . . .
both leave me gasping for life-giving breath
This water reminds…
If only to find
another guilty shot shared with you.
rather I’m
missing peace?
Am I pretending?
Where is life without a heart?
(pulsing muscle fibers of life)
where is my heart?
where is the missing piece?
Am I Really at peace with the water?
I am more now, at least,
than I was at 23

The sun is out.
The children scream and shout
All about.

There is no more school.
Everyone in the pool!
No more looking like a fool.

They run outside,
Find places to hide
And bikes to ride.

Everyone is having fun
No rush, no places to run.
Relax and play with anyone.

No one is stressed,
No more weight on their chests.
This is why summer is the best
freedom of finally being out of school and being able to do anything. Going out whenever, not having to wake up early, hanging out with friends. These are all things I think of when summer comes to mind.
