A damaged broken flag is fluttering in the wind
It clings lichen like to wood melted by time
You can not not see it tear and rip
As entropy begins to take its pleasures
And rain soaks and mold consumes
Still the flag bravely flutters flapping
The flag has long been sun bleached white
As though to say it has surrendered
But you can see it's tenacity
A white dove soars above tenderly
The flag fights on against the wind
It's mighty reaching as though to say:
I long to soar above this sorry world
And through will and destiny ever so rarely align
A great Storm rolls down the mountain
The flag cries out in full mast, full form
It's wooden anchor holding fast
But the the wood gives a gentle sigh and groan
“Old friend I can fight no more. Let me rest and you have you day of flight.”
And with a cracking moan, the old wood bid the flag goodnight
And then that single white flag did fly
As the Storm broke upon the sky
And sunlight rays pierced through
Turning, up world ravaged lands so blue
And then the birds all took flight.
And the flag flew proud
Though rip battered rotten and torn
The flag was see by all with the message to which it was born
“We can all be free if we really fight and endure, However briefly that is.”
What do you think the metaphorical symbolism of flags is?
Today I put a little flag
Down, beside a stone
Where grass and weeds were rampant
And the plot was overgrown

I knew not where he came from
I did not know his name
But, today I left a flag for him
As I'm sure he'd do the same

Today I put a little flag
Beside a soldiers lonely plot
Just to show we thank you
And that nobody forgot

A little flag beside a stone
For one who gave his all
A little flag beside a stone
For answering the call

Today I put a little flag
It waves there in the cold
For a soldier lies beneath the earth
Never ever growing old

A simple little gesture
For a soldier long since dead
I cleaned away the grass and growth
So his story could be read

Today I put a little flag
And I hope you'll do the same
Just to show that you were there
Though you do not know their name

Maybe leave a poppy there
It may blow to someone's door
With a thousand other poppies
From those who came before

Today I put a little flag
Beside a stone, so hard and white
For a soldier who gave all he had
Doing what he thought was right

Today I put a little flag
Beside a stone and then I cried
Remembering how young he was
We won't forget just why he died

Today...I put a little flag

I want you to hold me and say...
but you don’t say,
and I am angered inside.
Charged up like a bull,
you are teasing me with
your red flag
and at night...
When you reach out to empty,
It makes me feel so empty.
Your skin, on my skin
makes my skin crawl.
I want to slip into the darkness
of the comfortless night,
separate my soul from body,
peep in through the windows to see what
we’ve become.
You’re that monster...
Not hiding under the bed but sleeping next to me.
Yet how could this monster look so beautifully at peace?
My pillow is drenched now,
still stained from previous nights
when words were too difficult to express how I felt.
So I let this salty stream do the talking,
It flows out so effortlessly.
Even then they’re too silent in our silence.
One day I will find the courage
to wear your red flag,
and cast away the love you keep rejecting...
How it feels to be unloved -

Flag on the hilltop
Waving in the breeze majestically equal to the mountain it is built on
Soldier in the war
Standing heavy and direful, facing evil with brothers and valour
Heart in the chest
Lead the way, fight the war
Be open and keep the sword at the readiest
It takes a backbone and a strong heart singing a firm tone

Some sweet words from me to you.
If anyone's in need of some words of self-love, I hope these help.
I too am on that journey of self-growth, love and respect when I was feeling like I was going to self-destruct. I'm starting to make peace with myself, slowly but steadily.
I'm a young girl with an old soul who loves and treasures cheap thrills.
Like going to the parks, sitting by the pond, lay under the trees...
Things that people take for granted.
You need to FLY - First, love YOU!
Much love, guys.
Be back soon!

Blue was the winning streak that lasted decades.
The colour that held our sadness and sighs
our frustrations and cries
in silence.

Blue was the night sky
that beheld the moon and the stars
who gave their light
promising the warmth of a new day.
Even they knew that God
was watching.

Yellow was our rallying cry!
For justice to be restored,
so that righteousness
would rule once again,
as it always has reigned
in our hearts.

Red, the hope flowing through
our veins as we anticipate
the rise of a new day.
Red, the sacrifices we were
willing to make.
Red, the blood shed for this land.

Red, our new victory!
our new clarity,
our new vision,
our new hope.

Now, white for all the
unfilled spaces in between
the empty gaps like
the potholes in the road
that had collapsed long ago

For all the possibilities
that are yet to be
realised

White, a reminder:
we still have a long way to go.
Malaysia has just done away with their 14th General Elections and for the first time in history, the opposition won! I wrote a poem according to the colours of our national flag, the Jalur Gemilang in commemoration of this historic event!

Rag
Once there was a cloth.
It was pretty and blue
and white and red.
Everyone thought it was grand
because it flew up so high.
It stayed there all the time.
But since it was so high up,
nobody noticed the fabric tearing.
Nobody noticed the stitches failing.
The people just saw the cloth
way up high like it was before.
The people never noticed
that their cloth had become a rag.
Patriotism blinds one to the problems and flaws of their country.

His silence is consuming me.

Am I supposed to read between the lines?

I don't understand what they say.

Should I stay?

Does he want me to leave?

Do I fight?

Or should I wave the flag and just go?

Do I jump over the mines?

Or should I surrender?

I saw your flag stuck on the porch
I thought it was white
But the closer I looked the redder it appeared
I grasped it and blades sunk into my palms
Which was never what I feared
I knew from my palms my heart would bleed
Until there was nothing left inside of me
A casket, sealed so tight it set me free

Set me free to run wildly across the shattered rubble of glass that cut my knees
Set me free to scream at the bodies who caged me
Set me free to cry rivers, lakes and seas
Set me free until I’ve exhausted the universe inside of me

With broken hands and broken knees
I stared at you
Silently shouting please
Praying for a plea
Praying for you to set me free
Praying you could fix my knees
But I choked on my own fingers
Trying to understand everything that lingers

I wonder why white flags turn red
I wonder why my broken hands feel like lead
But then I remember that I chose this casket as my deathbed
It’s walls strung from forests full of wood, composed out of all the things you said
The melody falling loudly like gravity struck God in the head
And it was then, I understood
Because my white flag turned red
