He stood with his face to the firey blaze,
The background sooty and ashy,
He told her "everything was alright, it's okay."
Violent flames lashing and smoke wisps vanishing,
It's just that...every second leads to something,
A cough, a rash...a blank wall...then some monitors,
Then you're dead, it's the same thing every time,
So why not live for good? Why not breath the air
Like you've never gotten the chance to know how,
To run like children into the woods...

*...or you're dead already.

I tried to hold on to life, my
Hands were clasped but
Nothing is ever really held.

Only touched, and like
Grain and wisps of smoke
It pasted through.

Momentarily I was captured,
It was within my being, then
As all things once again gone.

No cosmos nor atom is infinite,
so we are told all ends.
Yet the spirit within  you,
is the infinite within the finite.
You are a universe never ending,
expanding forever inwards,
as space rushes the other way.

This life is finite
like a passing by train
comes and leaves.
This life is a moment in the spotlight
it will last forever, she once believed
but this life is a kid's kite
if you get lucky, you get to fly it right.
This life is a girl in a lost boy's sight
unpredictable, scary, or maybe a guiding light.
Because this life is whatever we perceive.
My mind is flooded with questions
Whose answers are beyond me
Like what will I face
When finite breaks to infinity
Or
When my life crumbles
Can I count on you
To stick with me
And
I know I went too far
But can someone still love me
As I search the rubble
For my new identity

Never before has the end of a chapter
Been so tangible
And I'm still turning the page
No fourth wall to break
And if the world is a stage
My life is a terrible play

Not everyone's a critic
But they all give a review
A little bit disjointed, but then again, so am I.

7 billion conspecifics walk
on 7 billion pairs of feet
treading soft earth and waters,
concrete and sands,
causing vibrations through
individual kinetic plans.

All busy heading
ultimately to where all ends meet,
our steps are finite;
our souls are in our feet.
Life is finite.

Lets talk about how years evolve from days,
And when it comes to me, no one ever stays.
Silent Thoughts Nov 2014
Whether it be the suns rays
A heartbeat or brisk days
A moment of incandesce
A heart full of love
Or a mind at peace
Bask in its light
For everything is finite
Rafael Melendez Nov 2014
More than beautiful. Godly, enough to drive a man blind and send him to something deeper than a physical perspective.
Enough to drive a man to live forever.

never promise me
that you will be here
always
because the world itself
is finite
