By the end of this night,
I will have left you behind
And you will have left me;
And what we swore to uphold til death do us part
Will be a thing of the past.
Is that why I feel like I’m going to be half-dead in the morning?

So I was hoping, just really hoping deep down
That we could have one last dance.
Just the two of us,
Just like old times
With my arms wrapped around you
With your heart beating for me.
I miss it already
**** not as much as I will in the days to come
When I have the devil curled up in my mind,
Whispering in my ear
The way you used to get jealous when other people did.
So I was hoping, just really hoping deep down
That we could have one last dance.

I understand if you’re ashamed
So we can turn out the lights
And never turn them on again.
We can keep his between us,
Just one final secret we keep for one another.
You don’t have to hold me close to your heart like you used to
But could you please at least try to pretend
That you remember loving me like I was made for you?
Because I was hoping for one last dance.
Before we go our separate ways and never speak of this again,
I’d like one last dance.
I won’t ask for a proper goodbye, nor will I give one.
But how about one last dance?

You were my grand final
but the show is already
over
Poetic T Oct 2017
loitering between
         earth
                       and air,

A cord of
                in-between
moments.

As we regret or
                breath relief,
of life's final moments..
Our souls are enfettered
By an Inexorable Penance,
Sorrows & Lamentations:

In pining for
The Light of Transmutation
The Adamantine Wings
Of Stalwart Bahamut
Unburdened our etherealized hearts.

(Speaking for the future)

Spira has lost its
Yoke of Communion
To this Cimmerian Millennium.

Redemption’s Revelation:

Aeonic sin hath reigned
Under the Cathedral of Deception
Forged by the taught tongues
Of Yevon;

Despotic Lunae
Eclipsed the light
Of a forlorn sky,
Divine Pantheon
For
Numen of Sol.

Cast a
Stygian Shadow of Sanctimonious Suffering for Souls.
Seems eternal; truly, ephemeral.

For,
the Hearts of nations
Are
Sacrosanct Luminaries.

Our tears
Have been shed,
Our vanities
Indemnified.

Skies shall bleed Empyrean Bliss
And
The Opus of Life
Shall cleanse
This wearied Spira of Pernicious Sin.

Inspired by Final Fantasy X. I attempted to encapsulate the story, thematic undertones, fantasy elements, ambiance of the musical piece (of same title as piece), as well as the penitence, sorrow, hope, and mirth set out before our heroes/heroines. Was a bit rushed as I wanted to get this out to you guys as swiftly as possible. Thank you for all your support because you mean all the world to me. Any constructive feedback is most appreciated! Enjoy! :)

In our last breaths,
memories would be all we possess.

All the laughter and sadness,
all the sorrow and madness

Tales of pain and regret,
may we forgive and forget

But as time progresses
our mind regresses

Turn distant and foggy memories will
these voids we cannot fill

There will come a day
forget these times we may

Though we may forget.
try we must, to live without regret.

You find me within
the interim for I will
be recognized as

the final. Though the
distance is my shelter, I
am near at hand;

on my way just to
get in yours. Reflect me; see
what is hiding your beneath.
