Corrinne Shadow Jun 2020
She wasn't particularly pretty,
Just a plain, average girl in high school.
She wasn't particularly brilliant,
Though no one would call her a fool.

She wasn't very athletic,
Preferring to sit in the shade.
She wasn't very artistic;
Her drawings were all left unpraised.

But she wasn't going to block out the cry:
That though childhood may have been tough,
She must stop defining herself by her "wasn't",
And learn, what she was, was enough.
I am broken, but I am enough.

are you going to talk to me.
-until you have something to offer
when will i be enough
-once you get exciting.
why wont you leave me.
-because you wont let me
how do you get out of a toxic relationship?

.
unrest
my unrest
like good-is-never-good-enough
my fuel to flourish
in unrest I thrive

unrest
that unrest
the feeling that enough-is-enough!
an outpour of pain
through unrest we heal

unrest
feel unrest
know that you too are enough
love fighting the battle
for unrest means growth.

life is full of ups and downs.
But we've been down so long,
I can't help but wonder...
When the time comes,
Can we even remember HOW
To get up?
And when will that time come?
When someone has the courage
To scream one word.
ENOUGH!
Enough kneeling.
It's time to stand and start healing.
But it's all or no one. So...
Have you had enough?"
It's time to end the suffering.
It's time to say this is not right.
I don't know if there was ever
An American dream.

Every black life matters.
See pass colour because
Our blood is all the same.

Untwist your mind open your
Eyes and look at the hate that's
Festering like a cancer.

Another black life is taken but
He will not die in vain.
Your skin colour should never
Be a death Warren.

Is this making America great again?.
You can call it by another name
****** is still ******.
It's time to say no enough is enough this should not be happening the colour of your skin should never matter

What part wasn’t enough
What part of me
What part didn’t satisfy you
Please tell me
How do I get better
It’s not for you
It’s for me
I don’t want to get better for you
It’s for me
It’s for him
It’s for whoever takes your place
It has to be for me
But why is it for you
