Sometimes I doubt
If I truly loved them
As much as
I could have.

But I know I did—
These tears are proof.
The rocky vessel
I’ve stood on
My whole life

Still leaves me swaying—
Though I’ve since stepped
Onto land.

What is truly love?
A bold show of affection?
Or pure emotion?

Act 1- The Urge
I want to scream.
But—
Instead I write,
The things I cannot say.

Act 2- The Tension
Silence.
My words are
Tearing
At these pages,
Trying to get out.
Freed.

Act 3- The Ache
Desperation—
Between every line
And pause.
Waiting,
Wanting,
To be seen,
To be heard,
Felt.
As you entered the room
stirring air with suppleness of walk
waking up the stillness with jingles of cymbals
making curtains dance to the sound of bangles
aroma wafted into air from canvas and copybooks
my paintbrush grew restless
and pen became enraptured
my eyes, hands and other parts
became electrified.

My heart spread rainbow in the room
like colours of youth and
lilts of life's melodies.

You who are sitting before me
have the power to
change my consciousness
into painting, poem, melody
or anything else!

I know you'll speak no truth at this time.
I've to be guided
solely by your silence, your eyes and
the inaudible appeals of your heart.

I've to settle before I lose the presence of mind-
whether I should use brush or pen
or my eyes, hands or something else
and create a unique
composition
all in you.

Fly
I will fly
Maybe not today, or tomorrow
Maybe not even this week or this month
But I will
IT's inevitable
The wings will form
Suited to my person
To my mind and to my being
Forming mental bridges
And mental blockers
One day and in one way not only will I fly
But I will be free
Free from myself
Free from the possibilities
Free from stress
And free from my mind
Pain won't exost
Hurt won't exist
Maybe I will, then again
Maybe not
Maybe I'll be numb
Or proud
Or delighted
But I will be free
I will have my wings
I will fly
Waiting
Just waiting
On edge
A sole belief
My wings will grow before I can
And I will fly before I can run
Either way I will leave
Fly
Fly
Fly away

The clock that does not tick anymore,
The sea that does not soar anymore,
The joy that does not roar anymore—
My soul suddenly went silent;
The body does not feel anymore.
O’ dewy rose, scattered on the silken floor,
Art thou a pledge of love, or parting’s lore?
In thee resides both flame and celestial light,
Thy fall alters the soul’s eternal plight.

Each bloom by the Hand of Destiny unfurled,
Carries the rapture and the ruin of the world.

I found a new color
In the space around your face
seemed like it wasn't real
And held my gaze, a spell

How could I tell

Had it always been there
Or was I unaware
That the windows I saw
were just portraits on a wall
To keep my mind astray
For another day

Well that day came
And took me along
Out the door, the windows gone

Blue green black
Softest of reds
Brightest of white
Darkness of coal

Well I was lost
In a strangers world
Only just recognized
I'd been a fool

How could I have painted
A whole new world
Whithout the shade or hue
That comes from you

Blue green black
Softest of reds
Brightest of white
Darkness of coal
To a lover not as lovely as they seemed

Putrid,
Repulsive,
Disgusting;
is but human nature.

A deceitful smile brings hurt;
yet a frown brings concern.
No one is out to get you;
yet no one is there to help you.

I want to be great;
a human without hate.
Am I worth something;
worth at least a couple of glances.
Before I die, I want at least a goodbye.
Humans are horrible —
yet I crave their attention.
Just thinking about human nature
