Quickening steps
Glistening eyes
Extending arms
Your fervour challenged ephemerality

Warmth I have never felt before
Illuminated my world of darkness
An envision of home
Only in your embrace
To my dearest love.

We say we know things
Alas, when we think of them from a new angle
All is obscure
Like tossing rings
They do not tangle
Merely overlap like a shiny lure
Cast out into the waters of our realm
Realm of reality and curiosity
Of what we see before ourselves
Rippling with every new idea and exploration

Placing a shield over the helm
False protection from figurative atrocities
Peeking out from beneath the layer
To see nothing but the same, dust coated book shelves
Stocked with tomes from savings
Neigh, no explanation
For need one a reason for purchasing books?

Embrace me, presence of the one missed
Hold me until said one returns
Or until the dawn
For how can one rest on
After being awakened from a deep slumber
By fevered dreams
That by which upon awakening
Bring about broken screams
Adrenaline coursing through ones veins
It temporarily takes the reins;
Look about swiftly, ensure safety
For one may not know if what you see before yee
Is still but a dream or reality.

What exactly have I written?
Cody Haag Apr 2020
Boy with blue eyes,
Break my heart.
Your plush lips
Are a work of art.
Lost in your scent;
Cool breath, pure smile.
It holds me in place,
Yet makes my heart travel a mile.
Kiss away my tears,
And pull me tight.
If this is wrong,
I don't want to be right.
Why is it so difficult to find a guy? It's always about ***, I swear.

In philosophy
there are two schools of thought
The belief that you can
vs the belief that you ought
I can fully understand
your love as if it were my own
Or without being you first,
your love is alone

I cannot focus
on what either ask to be
The real question is and remains
if either allows you to see
What is the solution here
When you love so much
Holding you in arm’s embrace
Falls short to just touch

I need to feel the cotton mesh
To burrow in your mind
To sit deep inside, climb behind your skin,
That’s the only way you’ll find—
When you whisper
I love you
—My answer
Cannot be just and I love you too
The only way to truly know
is to breathe inside of you

Rest in my arms
sink in my embrace
so I can dive into your dreams
and soar in your imagination

I do like you
a lot,
but there’s something
I forgot:

The Path
to reach Myself.

I can’t seem
to find
this "I" of mine
Anymore;

The footprints I left
are all blurred
and confused now -
The size of my feet
is useless
anyhow.

Snow is starting
to fall down
Again
and won’t stop
till It covers
everything around -

Till It buries
Me.

Will I let
the soft coat
Embrace Me?

Or will I shake it
Off
of Myself
when Spring comes?

This is still to be
seen;

In the meantime,
I’ll let the Leaves
Fall
for Me.

Her Arms are the Castle
which keeps me from every hassle;
I'd stay there all day long -
no one to do me wrong.

Oh, She is
so beautiful to me:
Strong and fierce,
no one could compete

And I can't think
about anything but Her,
So I close my eyes
and hide my mind somewhere.

<<Head in the clouds!>>
they say to me;
But tell me, my friend
Where should I be?

In my Heart
I cannot be free
And in my Soul
Pain and Agony

Only She
can liberate Me:
in her warm embrace
I finally am Complete.

an itsy bitsy virus
violently stole you
from the gentle embrace
that was never firm
afraid you might feel too loved

when you had slipped away loudly
the gentle embrace felt empty
looking for you
with big longing eyes
wherever it traveled

deep down the gentle embrace knew
nobody could fill
the throbbing whole you had left
nothing would replace
what the itsy bitsy virus had taken
