Shadows thrive upon complexity
Vague and nonsensical
The untrained, without resolve
Welcome all to cast their shades
Deeper inside they oft reside
Wilting, transfiguring
Til the field they presume to preside
Flourishes with roses black
as obsidian

Yet the seed may still be planted
Yielding a flower tall, light and bright
Consuming those beneath until vacancy remains

High is the Sun, white is the Orchid
Tempered radiance, gradual growth
More shall fill the newfound garden
While Day brings its gifts
Crescendoing by the simplest
of cool Spring breezes
Coming and going through
The end of another season
Promising its constant return.
Bijan Nowain Feb 2015
From afar she was admired
Clouds shaped of fancy and lust
Rainstorm of affection
Pouring down upon her
Appetite for desire consumed
Alas, meant to be, it was not
Love unequal, partial, distorted
The pendulum swings between
Elation and anxiety, passion and pain
Tale told many times before
Boy encounters girl, boy falls for girl
Love, while one-sided is still love
But fleeting, unsustainable
The great white buffalo
Unrequited love
Who is to say,
we cannot break our bond with the earth,
that we are too strongly tethered?
Not I for one.
Nor stone age man who leaps to death in mimicry of the birds,
nor the prisoner who, in confinement,
looks to the sky,
framed with the walls wherein he lies,
and says to himself, or herself, nay, I cannot fly.
And could I fly, I would touch the earth again,
or else burn up in the stratosphere.
Nay, nor the wild fowl, who may traverse 100 miles at a stretch,
ere they return to the earth.
Nor ashes carried in the air and bourn away upon the trade winds.
Who would admit an eternal debt to the earth,
which by every step we repay?
Least of all them overcome with wonder,
at infinite depth, at scale, at cold beauty,
at the splendid simulacrum of the cosmos.
Who then would hold me back by a leg or an arm,
who would through envy deny a splendid assimilation with the vasty domains of the other,
for what word, what momentary vocalisation of the earthbound
can in all justice give it name?
But in good faith, commit my body to it,
and I shall move throughout the eternal regions,
and circle in infinite revelry.
Deny me not this wild vanity,
commit not my body to the earth,
and I shall not call you cur, who walks upon the earth,
and there for evermore is tethered.
Have you ever felt so alive, so truly alive
that it seemed as if the birds sing for you
that the sun turns up every day, to say How do you do!
the waves come crashing to the shore,
to bring you news from the sea floor
the winds whistle and crash through the trees
rushing to you to do as you please
the tigers and lions and lionesses roar
to applaud your presence among all the bores
that the clouds thrash and thunder and burst
to give you a cool drink should you feel the thirst
that all of nature has come alive
to stand witness to you embracing your life
I felt like this today, when a loneliness was driven away
two eyes, two ears, two legs, two of everything
but the heart is always alone, that poor old thing
so when such a lonely soul finds its match
to play with, dance with and if fall then catch
then it would seem all the world is thine oyster
of your fate and destiny, thou be the master
One more mushy poem about love.. sorry!

It is in the night
That your sobs turn into
Moans,
Where pain gives way to
Pleasure,
As our bodies intertwine
To find the love
That our hearts
And minds
Lost.

When you fall asleep I will still kiss your upper back.  This does not take place in hope that you will wake up, I want my kiss to seep into your nerve endings and find myself in your dreams. Dripping my kiss into every ounce of your future.
A poem I want to work more on in the future.

Your sun shining on my face through the tinted windows of restraint. Walls broken down though drop kicks and hammer hits. Crumbling to the ground with an earth shattering I love you.

Arms open take me home to somewhere unknown. To the distant unfamiliarity that I call comfort. Trust fall, head slamming smitten. Dazed as a tacky cartoon character. Blistering wind of happiness content.

To where I will go as the heart I carry. As a rock in my chest waiting to be moved by the storm of absolute ness. Walking through a curtain of shivers. Drop me to my knees as I fall forward. Catch me with your strong will and acceptance.

Be able to take this to a different dimension. Somewhere far away from what it once was. It being the thing that is not clear. The pure feeling of electricity in your touch of eel shock. Breathless and abandoned in pure form. Leave me elated again and I promise. I promise.... Ill show you

When you played my heart like a symphony.
Leaving me oblivious to the feeling of mediocre.
The strings sounded so good as your breathe entering the room.
Glowing like a gem through the clear blue waves.
I want to swim in your veins. Just so I can experience complete.
Your delicacy is a floating feather landing on my hand.
Fresh touch of unknown layers of skin.

My life illuminated like a stolen bike when you said you would stay.
Giving me the endless urge to speak butterflies out of love and entanglement. There was a nightlight in the way your eyes obliterated darkness. Giving content a different meaning.
I'll never forget the moment my heart opened. Caught like a grasshopper. But I didn't **** on your hand.

That feeling, you know the one you get when you hear the ice cream truck. Glorious allurement of the belated time it takes for sound to travel. A surplus of magnified feelings. Up me of the moment and return again. I forgot my money at home. Home is where you are.

Let me down again into the season. Lower me softly into existence. The unknown of tomorrow lays down. Now is the it. Leave it with me. It will ring forever. You are forever.

Day 1
Melancholic,
Color blind,
Running through the streets of thoughts,
Oh, what's happening to my mind?!

Day 2
Sullenness,
Black magic,
Falling into my own shadows,
Am I covered by a dark fabric?!

Day 3
Lighthearted,
Full of joy,
But still held back by these strings,
Thinking again, what's the big ploy?!

Day 4
Resignation,
And jubilation,
Delight in the shades of orange and gray,
Is this what people called, the salvation?!

Day 5
Hopeful,
With a new day,
Fluttering my wings for a long flight,
Will I escape this ridiculous play?!

Day 6
Spirited,
Spread of wings,
As I gather all my might,
I think, will I finally break the strings?!

Day 7**
Euphoric,
Boundless delight,
Colors come rushing back to the sky,
Alas, I fly out of the night!
