I sleep in the morning haze.
Wake in the jubilant night.
Die in the shadows of dusk.
Ryan Cripps Jul 2014
It's 3am and the sky is dark.
Except for the stars
That make up a work of art.

No clouds, no fuss.
The moonshines through,
Lighting my room just enough.

A rough day of a rough week,
But this is the best time.
A time of peace.

Nature is calming.
Nature is anxieties worst enemy.
At 3 in the morning
The world doesn't exist to me.
I don't know if it's anxietys or anxieties..

i'm slowing beginning to see a pattern appear
in the form of the everyday actions i carry out
as i open my window to eavesdrop on the bushes
whispered conversations in the breeze
as i change the guard of mugs and glasses
that stand watch on my bedside table
as my room obsesses over mess and grows attached to dust
and cobwebs
as i swim in a thousand pots of tea
as the night meets me at our corner between dusk and darkness
as he does since every day.
riding his bicycle
stars chasing wildly after him
and we are reunited once again

Anytime I walk at dusk
I never raise my voice above
a whisper
for fear of betraying
the night's secret
to the world of man.

As the sun climbs down to the foot of the mountain
And the light fades slowly to turn into nothing.

Rest your eyes, John, let your dreams come to life
Let her invade your thoughts and fill you with serenity.

Bask in this dreamscape where she will be your one
Out here in the real world, she's said her goodbye to the sun.

Down, beneath our feet, she has made peace with the earth
Passed onto another realm where she will remain to be your true love.

The lantern bunting
Is looped between the street
Lamps against the sea
It is gorgeous
When you walk among them
And see
The dusk
When horizons
of ultramarine and seaweed
collide with cantaloupe and dusty red and honey .
