Close my eyes
I go to sleep,
Dream of night
Awake will keep
Hopes I can't forget about
Cuz,God, I think I'm blacking out.

Streetlights stare,
I walk around,
Looking like a mirrorball.
I wait to see a sign from you
Yet, I know I can't go through
Every city in the world
Just to keep on seeing you.

Tears are falling,
The depths are crying,
Leaving sounds almost like dying.

I turn around
Surprised to see
Your colored eyes
That made me freeze.

Questions popped out
In my head:
Do I like him?
Do I care?
Do I want to live in despair?
Is this true?
Are you still here?
Just think of all the things we could hear.
Me and you,
Locked together.
Me and you,
Stuck forever.

Hours passed,
It felt like days.
Rivers of words went many ways.
I got to know you,
You got to know me,
Yet my only question
Was left unnoticed.

You get up as you try to leave,
But I place my hand above your knee.
I try to stop you,
Yet you scream,
"Get the hell up from your dream!"
Just a situationship a friend of mine had.

From the start,
where dreams first whispered
and laughter danced on air,
the world seemed wide,
like a page blank and bright.

We built castles from crayons,
painted skies with no limits,
every worry a distant cloud
easily chased away.

Friendship bloomed
like spring flowers,
mixing colors in the sun,
each moment a treasure
held close,
glistening like morning dew.

My heart throbbed with Love's expectations
As he pressed his lips to my ear;
Passion's voice eagerly whispered
Forbidden words I longed to hear

Each kiss evoked thrills beyond measure ---
How they left me gasping for air;
But, O, when his face rested on mine
And his fingers tangled my hair!

So warm was his breath and his sighing,
Like the embers of passion's fire;
Then a gentle stroke of his hand
Ignited the flames of desire

I smiled as he struggled to tell me
What his eyes so clearly revealed;
But no words had to be spoken --
The fate of our love had been sealed

So close was the blissful surrender,
I could feel the beats of his heart;
So close to ecstasy  . . .  and then,
Suddenly, it all fell apart!

The warbling of a bird awoke me,
Then my eyes caught the sun's first beam;
So close had I come to Heaven . . .
But it was no more than a  dream

I day dream you know,
Of better days and other ways conversations should have went. I say words with passion that will never leave my lips, spend money I'll never make, experience a life I'll never live, all from my head. I've built the same house since I was 14 looking out rainy windows, so real I can smell the fresh coat of paint on the living room walls. I've planned the same wedding since I was 16 at midnight staring up at my ceiling, so real I can feel the tears on my cheek while reciting my vows. But I'm 26 and I'm scared of failure so I don't try, the fear so real I can feel myself daydreaming my life away.
And everything goes right in my head
And I don't make mistakes
My front door's painted red
And I succeed at every risk I take

It was all real
For a moment
And I was sad
When I woke
But happy to have
Spent an hour with you
Even in the shortest naps
I live lifetimes with you

have always wanted to escape reality-
from disney princess movies as a kid
to being a pre teen feeling real ******
reading all those fantasy books
then discovered romance and ****
as a weird teenager that barely lives
and keeps wanting to cut
myself but I know nobody gives
a single **** about my dreams
because I've always wanted to just fly
or shoot beams
or getting really really high
with dopamine in my veins
because if I met my fated partner in a whole another world
I'll be content for no reason
at all <3
