5am Sunday morning
Quiet throughout the house
Till I hear fumbling around in the kitchen
bang
crash
See you scared out of your mind
You can't get up.
I help you up
You fall again
I help you up
You fall again.
These tears wet my face and I fall to my knees.
It's time for you to go.

As I lay with you waiting to go put you down
The flash of memories rush through my head.
The memories of you saving me from myself I will never forget.
I'm alive because of you.
The memories where you always made me laugh and smile just because I was upset.
But My heart shatters and I can feel sharp pains throughout my body.
It hurts to see you in fear and pain.
Yet you were in pain for awhile
Sorry I couldn't save you.

The car ride to the hospital was the hardest.
As you layed next to me panting and looking up at me scared.
Tore me apart.
Yet you gave me one last kiss
And I felt in the moment I know you loved me and said it's going to be ok.
You gave me signs that you were ready.

We get to the hospital.
I break down because I know I have to be with you when you go.
I needed to comfort you how you comforted me through my dark times and when I was scared.
I hug you
I hold you
I pet you
All these moments and memories.
As we wait for the doctor
I look into your eyes since that's the only thing you could move.
You looked at me and I looked back.
My heart tightens and my.stomach flips upside down.

I pet you constantly trying to stay strong and not break down.my eyes already puffy, red and aching.
You slowly begin to fall asleep because your relaxed in my arms.
You warmed my heart with the kiss in the car then you relaxed as I've seen all morning.
Then you make me laugh one last time.
You burp loudly.
I'm sobbing yet laughing cause you always know how to make me laugh when I shouldn't be.

Thank you for,
reassuring me.
loving me for me.
making me smile.
making me laugh.
reminding me I'm loved.
But most importantly
Thank you for saving me.
Still wish I could have saved and helped you more.

We knock on the door to let them know it's time.
The doctor explains what's going to happen.
I break down.
She puts the tranquilizer to relax you.
Your heartbeat slows down significantly.
I pet you and comfort you for the last moments on this earth.
The doctor comes back.
Puts the last injection

All of sudden...
Your heartbeat simply stopped in my hands.
I couldn't even cry in that moment.
I was just so numb I couldn't even process it.

The car ride home felt like it went on for hours.
It felt like the road kept getting longer.
My head was simply numb.
My heart was in my stomach and I can feel the shattered pieces poking me internally.

You had a long amazing life full of love and made everyone happy that met you.
You lightened up the room everywhere you went.
You made me happy when I didn't want to be.
You were the bestfriend I could have ever asked for.
Thank you for saving me.
I'm happy your not in pain anymore.
Thank you for fighting for
so long.

Your forever in my heart.
I love you Brandy.
Goodbye and I will be with you again one day.
This poem I guess you can is or isn't a poem but it about me losing my bestfriend, my companion of the last 15 years. She saved me countless times. Yes she's a dog but many people won't understand the bond we shared.

Ask...and you shall be given answers
seek...and you'll be told where to look
knock...say, hello?...hello? hellooow?
a voice named siri replies:
"is it me you're looking for?"
i think,
the eyes, the mind, even the heart, need
clear, goggle-like glasses, for 20/20 vision,
to grasp, to discern,  be forewarned,
not to be overwhelmed by whatever
data unfolds on the screen

they say, there are contrived solutions,
for life's every complication
search engines are accessible to all
just press specific keys, and, Voila!
surf, play...easy games, easy friends
but, can they really answer all questions?
every human question?.........like,
do elephants really cry? how did it occur
that they have excellent memories?
is Timbuktu modernized now?
are there still surviving cannibals?
will the remaining Bee Gees member,
tell us how to mend a broken heart?
do rosicrucians really possess secret wisdom?
what happened to you and me?
how do i save myself from emotional vampires?
how do i cook pad thai?
...and how do i get you out of my mind?
why does the rooster crow after midnight
how does logarithm work with poetry?
do dogs have souls?  do they visit their
masters?....i miss my dogs Misty and Tiny,
...and i miss you...what's wrong with me?
God, why do i even bother to ask?

my goggled eyes are blinded by grief
my goggled mind refuses to forget
this goggled life of mine feels empty
and it has nothing to do with technology...

by these forgotten suburbs of the world
every day a new scent
every day a new path
***** trails to feel the soil

every day someone to greet
every day I see you go
and then come back

every day a breath of wind
with all the universe inside!

every day from heat to cold
from light to dark
and sometimes the rain
it falls.....

nothing is ever the same
every day a new day like that
with one thing or two things
or three
and the next day maybe one
or half.....

the sum
or the subtraction
of many little things
happiness and freedom?
Yup,
I can teach you
master!
..........

.................................

en estos suburbios olvidados del mundo
todos los días un nuevo olor
todos los días un nuevo sendero
caminos de tierra para sentir el suelo

todos los días alguien para saludar
todos los días te veo ir
y luego regresar

todos los días un soplo de viento
con el universo entero adentro!

todos los días  del calor al frío
de claro al oscuro
y a veces la lluvia
cae .....

nada es igual
todos los días un nuevo día asì
con una o dos cosas
o tres
y el día siguiente quizás uno
o la mitad .....

la suma
o la resta
de muchas pequeñas cosas
felicidad y libertad?
sí,
yo puedo enseñarte
patrón!

The sight of rain,
of wet clothes, wet plants,
wet doorsteps, wet hopes and dreams,
and, that known scent of sadness and grief
all these...create soggy, sluggish minds

we just lost two dogs to the virus
the glum of monsoon rains affects the moods
the "yays" from cancelled classes
have all passed...
sun is shining, not too bright, though,
peeps like a tease, but,
enough to dry the ground...

i see vacant lots...almost naked now
motor's droning hum is a lullaby
that lulls the mind
a strong smell stirs the nostrils and
defines a welcome pleasance...
i sniff....and chase away sadness,
with this intriguing scent
.....of freshly cut grass....

In the morning I woke up
To warm my bones
A chair welcomed me
to my roof top patio
I stretched my arms to the sun
It filled me up- It filled me up
Till I was full
And the cars, the planes and the trains
all buzzed by

At about noon I made my lunch
It was good
Took a few bites
Gave the rest to the dogs in the neighborhood
It fell from the sky
so they praised at the top of their lungs
It filled them up- It filled them up
till they were full
And the bugs, the birds, and various cats
all passed by

Later that night
I layed down my head
my eyelids were heavy
before they caved in
I drifted softly back to sleep
it filled me up- it filled me up
till I was full
and the stars, the trees, and the cool night breeze
came to me
they came to me, in my dreams

The oxygen has run out of the town.
All the dogs have left the pound.

And all I see is black.
The patients have been healed.
The dogs have been adopted.
And all I see is black.

I turned on the radio.
Black radiated from the speakers.

That's all I hear and see and I don't acknowledge it.

Say, why don't you hop on the expressway of the mind?
Just take the exit numbered infinity.

Your soul will be lifted again.
Nothing more is sacred at all.
There's nothing more do to than save face.
After acting for so long, you believe that something's real.

We know that morality is just a fantasy.
We know that displeasure and misery is still a sensation, so we pretend that morality exists.
We pretend, safe in the knowledge that we never wanted morality to be a fairytale.

Black won't recede,
It's ascended to a self-declared deity.
So we swim away from the evening tide.

Thank goodness that everything has a timer , so nothing is permanent.
This one's longer than prior stuff I have published, but I hope you have enjoyed.

Watching the clouds is such a calming activity. I wonder why I don’t do it more. I suppose it’s because during the year “I don’t have the time”, but what does that even mean? There is always time, time is continuous. It is fluid, I am not reminded of this often enough. I like being outside during the time just a little bit before sunset to watch the majesty of nature welcome the night. Spending time with my dogs is rather pleasant too, I don’t do it frequently enough, I know. The sky has slowly turned into shades of grey and the clouds are growing heavy. The final calls of the birds are echoing off the dusty concrete as they call to each other in what I can only assume is their language. There is not too much longer that I can sit outside for before it’s completely dark which I know I wouldn’t enjoy. There’s too much uncertainty about the night compacted with the well known and well repeated fact that I can’t see. It’s pretty much a nightmare combination. However I have to say, there’s something special about sitting barefoot in the grass watching the sun go down with the only company being your dogs.

It’s quiet. It didn’t used to be. My parents have been fighting for who knows how long tonight. It’s not great background noise when I’m trying to relax. There’s a motorcycle racing down my street there is definitely something to living behind the protection of a driveway. I couldn’t imagine how awful it would be to live next to a highway. It’s peaceful watching the clouds slowly amble across the sky changing color ever so slightly. I really enjoy summer in this moment. The gentle breeze, the kisses from my dog, the slowly setting sun, and melodic hymn from the birds create a vision that seems to be stripped from a movie scene.

Don’t cry mother
You’ll be united once again
Once again be in the presence of a friend
Friendship sometimes comes to an unexpected end
Mother, please wipe your tears away

Don’t cry mother
She may be gone but memories last a while
Remember when she’d snarl when she smiled?
You didn’t need a leash to walk her a few miles
Mother, please wipe your tears away

Don’t cry mother
He prolonged his life to be with you longer
Sometimes you didn’t think he’d make it, he proved he was stronger
Keep him in your heart, and never let the memories be conquered
Mother, please wipe your tears away

Don’t cry mother
Although they lost their option of survival
The Rainbow Bridge awaits your arrival
Companions and friendships will spark a revival
Mother, they’re waiting for you, so they can wipe your tears away.
