There’s a hollow kind of happiness
caught in the curve of an imperfect smile—
where soft lies rest gently on the tip
of a weary tongue.

To be truly happy is to risk the world
watching, waiting for your fall—
constantly crumbling on your knees,
like a prayer too faithful not to be heard.

Vows taste bittersweet, like knowing,
deep and quiet, that you’ll fail before you begin.
And still—you hold the hurt in your hands,
the same hurt that shaped you,
while denying how deeply it still aches.

But pain denied
denies you healing.

As you are still searching for yourself—
like an arrow already loosed, still chasing
its aim long after the bow has let go.

And maybe you won't land where you
thought—but you’ll find something solid
beneath your feet. And not every wound closes
clean, but even scars can trace a path for you
to follow.
i was sick of being
put in a box
labelled, ready to send.

i looked up holidays,
knowing if i didn’t stop,
i’d drop dead.

but even the thought
of going felt too much.

still, i clicked complete.
seats reserved
on the eurostar.

anything else
than being the other woman —
the one people fall for
when their hearts
should be sealed,
not crossed.

i need to reclaim
some of my old self
i’ve lost along the way.
maybe that’s a start.

it’s got to be enough.
this one is about being company under covers, and the ache of hurting myself, and others.

As she walks around, tiptoeing about,
Judging herself so filled with doubt.
Conform, compress, and pay the dues—
The audience smiles at the pointe shoes.

The air felt warm on a tightened chest,
Urgency excused the hurt she pressed.
Forced to step and leave a mess.

The stage creaked with every leap,
Cracked and crumbled, she let pieces seep.
When souls so kind are forced to break,
the warm air shakes in a state of quake.

Oh, am I the cause of these broken boards?
Or was it rotten wood no one restored?

Toes blistered where the thought fell by
The aching hush of silent cries.
The pointe shoes take their final steps.
She only wished to see the stage rest.

But still, the pieces kept on falling.
It was never her or even the crowd calling.
Oh, it was the rain above and warm summer air
That left the stage in a state of despair.

A soul no longer trapped by the crowd ahead
Or being the cause of the stages death—
Hearts move on to carry other burdens,
How will she think for herself with no more curtains?

Dust motes catch the light
The world sighs in shades of grey
My hand reaches it—
A blue cover, curled edges
One sharp breath, I turn the page
The first in a four-part tanka series inspired by The Inheritance Cycle.
This one marks the beginning: the moment when everything changes.

Watch for the next poem in the collection if you like—each follows a different stage of the journey.

i will dissolve
into every window i’ve never looked through
into the faces i passed and never asked their names
i will wear their voices
                                           like wet fabric
and let their lives
               press salt into my skin

i will walk
               barefoot into the golden streetlight
where shadows kneel quietly
                                       beside electric trees
i will open my ribs
and let the evening pour in

i will not be me
                              not only
i will bloom
inside the laughter of someone i’ll never meet
who once kissed someone i never will
and still
                     i will mean it

i will sit beside oceans
                                     as her
as him
as the child still learning how to cry
and in each breath
                                 i will carry
the hunger
             to feel it all

i will speak
                in unfamiliar tongues
to moons that do not rise for me
                                        and still say
yes

i will press my fingers
              into the dusk
                      until it softens
and teaches me
                                    how to vanish gently

i will love
               like a stranger
like a thousand strangers
                                             each with different hands
and hearts that end
                                  too soon

i will rise
               carrying cities
and regrets
and a boy who once drew birds in the dirt
i will rise
and walk into the last light
wearing every name but my own

and just before the clock splits
                       i will
                                              finally
                                              be.

The Poem

"Life is the true poem"

July 18, 2025.

A gaze from the sixth sense,
to seek that poem, "The Poem."
That poem that is always there,
to dive into life searching.
Where life is the only poem,
that poem that holds everything.
Where everything is, to see,
to feel, that it unveils itself,
in pieces for life.
In pieces searching,
for that ideal poem.
Reflections of life,
that are just,
there in everything.
Unfurled,
pieces,
parts,
souls,
poet.
In that,
which is,
something,
more.
You,
and
...
You were EXPOSED,
You were caught OFF GUARD,
PEOPLE CAN SEE YOU,
and know EXACTLY
WHO YOU ARE,
your COVER IS BLOWN,
the SECRETS of THE UNKNOWN,
The SUSPICIONS, and ALLEGATIONS
of DISCOVERIES are SHOWN,
because
of THE EXPOSURE,
you are seeking DISCLOSURE,
the world is so COLDER,
people are getting so BOLDER,
The lies that you FACE
are such a DISGRACE
The people of the WORLD
are the critics you FACE
UP In your own world
in your own private zone,
JUST YOU BY YOURSELF
JUST YOU ALL ALONE
Is where you were
DISCOVERED
YOU JUST BEEN
EXPOSED!!!

I like when it storms,
the push and the pull
I'm addicted to the adrenaline and playing who's the fool
I've got a boat to survive the hurricane,
It's a little rickety and there's a few holes but what's love if you can't thrive in the rain?
Sometimes we drown but it's not forever, something about gasping for air makes that first breath of understanding better
I might run from your thunder until I match the beat,
find me in your orchestra-
the very first seat
It's always a shock when my lightning strikes, sudden and bitter and riddled with spite
But the worst part is when quiet comes, can we afford to rebuild or do we leave our land destroyed as it was?
And like a wild fire it's aftermath is devastating
But how can we breath new life into what's already overgrown?
~
Sugar wife,
slipping husband,
massaged honeymoon flesh
wrapped in cellophane.

The sound of a water clock
cascading down
her mysterious frontage.

Handprints on
the glass pane
opaque with remnant steam.

Let your eyes
be your guide,
when dressed in
the tiniest temptations,
she catwalks into the room
with a novel idea for two.

This heart is bruised and battered
It’s been contorted and squeezed into so many shapes that it’s forgotten it’s form
It doesn’t know what it is, it doesn’t know what it wants
But there is beauty in that isn’t there?
Maybe the heart is elastic
Maybe it is relaxing slowly into its form rather than searching for a mold
Maybe it needs patience
Maybe it needs love
For now I leave it be
I hold it in its agony, give it my love and wait
I am very new to this and would love feedback
