Shhhh …
        that sound ...
                scatters diamonds.
Gray turns black.
        And black reflects.
When it stops …
                you HEAR the silence
sound simple
                and complex

You are magnificent and gentle
can turn reflection of the sun
into a diamond,
                                sentimental
we get when stars and moon
                                        are drawn
on darkest surface, and abyss
        feels dear,
        comforts soul with bliss
For my entire life I wanted to live by the ocean and didn't. Why? Because I thought what I wanted was not important. I am changing :)

A color capable of holding emotions as magnificent as the stars shining,
like diamonds in the spread of the sky,
yet holding a thousand shade of sadness.
The sky which holds people's lives between its palms and
sways left and right and
have its clouds riot.
Don't turn that color into a darker shade and bring down on me your tears and pain.
Don't reflect that tormented color in me.
But she does it anyway and
I wake up in the middle of the night
clenching my fists and gasping for a single breath
of relief,
of air.
Of air that is not tainted with the shades of that color.
But she does it anyway and
it turns me into a puzzled mess that makes me unable to differentiate,
to hardly be able to tell the different shades of pain
or love or anything in between.
The color that
ruins me.
But the same one that revives me.
The color of my lover’s eyes, so bright they look like
sapphires on acid.
The color that huffs its paint inside of my throat and
suddenly: I am able to live: and to love: and to be.

Dear diamonds, can't you hear us?
We're right here, buried underneath.
We look above and at you with lust.
You're loved and bright and sparkly.

We coals are easy to use.
We give electricity, we set fire.
We are not you, we make you.
Can't you see we're under 'pressure'?

You were bought for show off,
And show off you do.
For something that gets people robbed,
You sure have a high value.

When pressure does not work on us,
You turn away and sigh
Don't worry, we're non renewable.
Eventually, one day we'll die.

God bless our confused, non existent minds.
We're coals living in a dangerous coal mine.
We do not want to be like you diamonds,
But we do... at the same time.
A poem about insecurities and constantly being under 'pressure' to be like others.

A little bird
trapped in a golden cage,
fed with precious jewels,
diamonds and pearls.
Had everything
anyone could ever ask,
except for one thing
she can never have.
--- Freedom.

if you promise you will love him,
must he also promise he will love you?
or is it that the man gets the choose
to leave if he gets tired of the toy
he bought in the clearance section,
though the “toy” was misplaced,
and was meant to be
placed with the jewelry, the diamonds
which cost more than twice his income.
you, a priceless artifact.
you don’t deserve that kind of love.
the love that enchants you,
though it was always a one-way arrow.
Each facet, a surface so resplendent,
Till ground away with endless polishing
To find innate sparkle magnificent,
O’er timeless glow that we’ve been cherishing.

O the eons spent on its perfection,
Dulled easily without the jeweler’s lens.
What gain had from chiseled vivisection?
To scratch the surface with corrosive cleanse?

What value is in diamond edges smooth,
Where lines mark surfaces with precision?
Is natural shine too luminous to soothe,
So we treat works of time with derision?

Hardened we underestimate its glow,
Its care requires the finest instrument.
The process used to make it shine was slow,
But dulls with the pressure of improvement.

as a kid
a crack head broke in
to my single father’s house
he stole my xbox
most of our food
and sent my family
into a spiraling depression
the broken glass
reminded me of diamonds
ones that i wish i could give back
to my broken family
