Zara rain Apr 2021
Can I reinvent myself one more time?
Possibly. I am a believer of possibilities.
Shall I rise as the phoenix,
from the ashes of past choices?
Take the sky on wings
flaming with new decisions.
Shall I choose,
rebirth as empress of the sun?
Or will fate always decide my destiny,
to be the queen of rain?

We were met on two shores
trying to get to the beach
we both knew the terminus
stood just out of reach
and we settled for us
with the thought in our heads
that if something improved
we’d move out of there.

Then the storm had subsided
and none of us cried it
was more than we’d hoped for
and mother just moped there for
days but we’ll raise her spirits
buy in more spirits and drink her a toast
while the waves belt the coast.
If I could have one wish
I wish we would be hanging on forever
It would be great if we are together.
And that is why I'm here today.

Even though my dreams were true
And when I realize my dreams were you
It's the way he looks into her eyes
To know it was there the whole time

All I wanted was for you to know
Is that she loves you so,
From here on out, I wish to declare
For all this love that we share.

For you to see her inner beauty,
When she's with you its pure destiny
When all is said and done,
For you to be together as one.
this is my first poem here. I wrote this for a friend or classmate of mine for his wife
Heavy Hearted Apr 2021
a small group of individuals
bound by the intersectionality
of their detriments
meet;

and although alone we stand
in head and heart and hand
together the mind and the heart gave birth
to something each of us forgot were worth:

when we are together, a real person is born
not through the perceptivity of gore and of ****-
but of virtue and strength being visible not
to anyone other than us 3 who forgot.

“Do you believe in destiny?”, she smiled
“Only when you stumble upon it.”
“And what if it’s all planned?”
“Keep dreaming”, he smirked, “You’ll soon enough quit.”

“Romeo was bound with Juliet,
star-crossed lovers till the end.
In death, they found one another.”
She stared at him unready to bend.

“Star-crossed lovers, you say?
I say it was serendipity they met.
And one was fortunate to see the other,
right before their tragic death.”

“You’re not going to believe are you?”
“Is it in my destiny to?”, he asked.
“We will meet again if it’s written”, said Fate.
Coincidence smiled, “Only if we meet by chance.”

Sophia,
She was full of interest but silent
her view to life was lucid but dim
She knew her finish line
so she dug the world to find her answer

She locked all her doors,
counted the stars,
dreamt until dawn,
nothing interest her outside her room

Then Sophia met Philos,
a man full of kindness, affection, and compassion
The world was his adventure, his arena
And they fell for each other

Sophia didn’t get him at first
He looked like a fool
But he loved her dearly
despite her cold heart and her uptightness
Philos gave anything to her

Sophia felt different since Philos
He thought her a view she once misunderstood
An overwhelming warmth hugged her body
filled with ideas and hopes
She felt moved to bring her outside

Love is the cause of action
and now she know that
Because without Philos, Sophia is nothing

Part 3 : I thought you love me, but it’s all my hallucination

The day you left me,
The last day of fall 2017.

You left your knife hanging on my heart
I thought we would last forever
But how could your love for me disappear so suddenly?
Why couldn't I see this coming?

Just that, you left me
When you knew my heart is still aching for you

So, I looked at your eyes for the last time
Hoping there’s something
But I didn’t see anything in them

The Ice Plants died slowly, and winter came.

Part 2 : I started loving you with no hesitation

Our last vacation together,
The last day of summer 2017.

The tall grass bowed to us,
as we made our way across the orphic meadow
We laid down together side by side
And on this damp grass,
under the clouds,
our hearts rang forever

At that moment, I said to myself,
time, space, and beings can’t step between us

I started writing musics with our love
And even the flowers started talking to me
Love just felt so magical

Love, I said to myself inside
I glanced at you,
and you smiled at me
The words stopped at the tip of my tongue
But before I could even say it,
our lips met, and the Ice Plants bloomed.

Part 1 : I opened our first page with no expectations

The day we first met,
The first day of spring 2015.

I still remember the scent of the cool air on that day
The silent wind tickled my exposed skin
The faded jazz music from the coffee shop
The customers’ chuckles and chatters

And then there’s you.

I still remember what you wore on that day
Even your first words to me
The sparks in your eyes pulled me
The sweetness in your smile weakened me

And when our eyes met, the Ice Plants bloomed.
