Follow the river,
Follow the road,
Follow the wind South bound.

One’s a liar,
One’s a cheat,
And one’s a ***** to be found.

Feel the shiver,
Feel the cold,
Feel the world decay.

Travel down
Deceitful paths
That all go
The same way.

I heard the cries of his broken heart --
How it begged for the pain to cease!
So compelling was its lament,
I tenderly gathered each piece

The moon glowed with a pale radiance
As he revealed his doleful plight:
The scornful deceit of a woman
Caused hope and trust to take flight

Each word he spoke flew like a dagger,
Piercing my heart mercilessly;
My own despair, caused by cruel deceit,
Was a blight on Love's memory

In our pain we found a common link --
Hearts doomed to deceit's damnation;
But Fate's course was soon to be altered . . .
O, sweet joy of liberation!

Unhappy memories flew from our hearts
As if on the wings of a dove;
And deceitful lies melted like snow
Upon the sacred fires of our love

Now a joyous dawn greets us each day,
Pain and woe are in full retreat;
On this twisted, rocky path called Life
True Love's radiance now guides our feet

When I look into your misleading eyes
I wish I didn't see past the disguise
I'd rather not be face to face with deceit and lies
That give my walls a reason to rise

same clothes and the same smell,
same room and the same hair gel–
good handwriting and the fairwell–
every now and then I just feel compelled

to lay in ash and let the heart churn.
to lay in ash and let the scars burn.
to lay in ash in hopes I’ll discern
what the past is yelling with a reverb

same clothes and the same smell,
dead heart lives in a young cell
and the water’s dried in a new well,
could I be the pool that’ll consume hell?

just a drop, just a drop
a drip of time for a broken clock
a moment merry with a single petal
until life’s hands come to cut your knot

but a word, whether auditory or a written letter
whisper to me or pick up your feather
rehash to me a time of us together
or just give detail of the local weather

same clothes and the same smell,
too familiar but I can’t tell
how the notes played don’t produce spells
is it wordplay? Is it truth–

truth is, truth is hidden by a hoodie–
silhouette, water–dirt, very muddy
with confusion, has me seeing blurry;
tears of hope sting, supper’s full of hurting and
the similarity is too concerning…

same clothes and the same smell,
but the voice, no, no the voice fails
and the face lies, quite the fox tail
this is not right, this is not real

a wolf in white wool tells me I’m his friend
the teeth in his jaw are bathed in fresh blood
we’re friends from the past and though I thought he was dead
he defeated his troubles like he said that he would (–did he?)

because of slow sense and the charm of his wit
I’m the meal and the victim, defeated in good

same clothes and the same smell but
its. not. You.
just a story, written as a poem about grieving hallucinations... maybe they're not hallucinations...

Don't idly sing love songs to the wind ---
A troubled heart might be lurking near;
What a loathsome task to have to rescind
Loving words it was not meant to hear

Tread with caution, lest you wake the beast
That's held captive in some desperate heart;
When from its ******* Hope has been released,
It becomes fair game for Cupid's dart

Crumbs of Love that are carelessly tossed
Might be hungrily devoured in haste;
Once that bridge to Paradise has been crossed,
O, what pain when steps must be retraced!

Use due caution before you declare
Unwavering love to a distraught heart;
Deceitful words, though delivered with flair,
Carry the sting of a poisoned dart

Words of love are messengers of Hope
That allow earthbound hearts to take flight;
But lies and deceit weave the fatal rope
That binds lonely hearts to their sad plight

lying, an act of hatred

an assault against the divinity of trust

a spit on the grave of love that once was...

if not stillborn, a puppeteer with its corpse

the duty of self loathing; spread to the beloved

in the guise of defence, purity ruptures

a vile form of mockery--how dare you so?

to inject your venom into blood so close

deceit can birth, sicken and ****, but heal it cannot

only to be espoused by those most corrupt

Hold me,
In an embrace of thorns.
Hold me with a metallic feel,
Masticated love,
Votives made up of us
Rejected in full stead
To what appeal?
Wealth?
Life paid at the expense of ***,
******* yourself.

God wove the fabric of Life,
with the thread He made from Love.
Thus He went on to create Woman.
Who's Touch, was soft as a Dove.
He wrapped Her with His Holiness
and scented Her a Fragrance so Pure.
He then gifted His Masterpiece,
so Man on Earth felt Secure.
Man stumbled upon this Gift,
On which He would sow His Seed.
Alas He gazed Her with Eyes of Lust,
Selfishness and also Greed.
He held Her with impatience
and splashed on Her.....His Pride.
He stole the fabric, God had created.
In a bag, filled with Deceit and Lies.

In the kaleidoscope of affection, I painted you with hues of adoration, blind to your monochrome reality.

Eyes fixed on the canvas of our shared moments,
I brushed away the shadows you cast on the edges.

Your smiles, a palette of warmth, a sunlit mirage,
Masked the colder currents beneath the surface.
I sculpted your silhouette from fragments of devotion,
Blind to the chisel that carved deceit into your contours.

Each word you spoke, a lyrical serenade,
Harmonizing with the symphony of my own yearning.
Yet, within the notes, the discord of deception echoed,
A melody played on strings attuned to your agenda.

In the gallery of my heart, your portrait hung,
A masterpiece crafted by hands that concealed ulterior motives.
I traced the lines of your whispered promises,
Unaware they were sketches of transient commitment.

The truth, veiled in the smoke and mirrors of affection,
Cloaked by the tender illusions of shared vulnerability.
I basked in the radiance of your borrowed light,
Unmindful that shadows were the offspring of your truths.

Blinded by love's unforgiving lens, I sculpted a narrative,
Ignoring the fractures in the marble of our connection.
In the echo chamber of your affirmations,
The resonance of deception, a dissonant undertone.

"The Truth in Your Lies," an exhibition of realization,
Where the canvas of affection reveals concealed motives.
I dismantle the gallery, unframe the illusions,
Confronting the naked truth beneath the painted veneer.

wherever men gather
there is the hierarchy of deceit
there are those that know
those that think they know
and the sucker
who's the **** of the joke

wherever men gather
there is the hierarchy of the beast
there are those that rule
those that think they're in charge
and those who shelter in the shadow
of all of the above

wherever men gather
there is a code
wherever men gather
high or low
never to tell the secrets
they all know
