“I love you.”
Reverberates in my flesh.
Words to destroy by,
Words shared with you.
Coward, I name you
As I ponder
The might have been.

Not everyone can be heroes.
There are us.
The cowards.
The ones that,
Quite honestly,
Are not willing to give up our lives.

We are not bad people;
We are not selfish.
We pray that we don't find ourselves in a situation
Where bravery is the desired virtue.
Where fingers will be pointed,
Insults will be thrown.

'Who cares what they think?'
We don't.
We care what you SAY.

'Don't dwell on idle threats.'
We don't.
But they are never idle.

You scoff when we flinch at the raise of your hand,
Calling out: 'wimp'.
But you are the ones
That conditioned us with fear.
We don't run from everyone,
So if we run from you
Then what have you done?
You have hurt us.
Hit us.
You repel us.
And
For some reason
We repel you.

Go ahead. Hate us.
Pressure us into doing things because we aren't strong.
Beat us because our bodies are frozen in fear.
Insult us because our lips are sown shut.

No one can be perfect.
Not everyone can be a hero.
We aren't heroes.
But neither are you.
Idk what this is... It's not one of my favourites tbh.

I look over my shoulder just to see where you are
only to see you talking not to me

I look at you from across the room just to catch
only a glimpse of you trailing hair

I be in the same room as you but I can
only get mad at myself for being a coward

I engage with you in a small conversation
only to find myself stammering at your beauty

I pick you out from the crowd just by glancing
only to find you walking with a guy, smiling at his jokes

I stray from my own thoughts and friends
only to disappoint myself and my friends for you are not there

I love you and would do everything for you
only to see you get your heart hurt by another genuine guy

A sight to see
only you're not in front of me

A friend to have
only to find myself unworthy for you

A women to love
only you don't even see me as a friend

A coward meets his crush
only to find out they were just passerby

Oh sunset, your aura still lingers,
A charming shade across the sky,
A perfect watercolor painting,
The first sign of day waving goodbye.

Oh sunset, you're so beautiful,
Your colors paint the air,
Flashes of the brightest hues,
You leave traces everywhere.

Oh sunset, how you grin,
With such a cheerful light,
Your lovely warmth is always,
An unexpected delight.

Oh sunset how you have lit my path,
Tolerated my blurry tears,
You're a familiar place, where I've loved and lost,
But still you remain, despite the cruel years.

Oh sunset, now you're dancing,
Alive, and carelessly free,
Sunset im feeling jealous,
Oh I wish that could be me.

Oh sunset, how fleeting, mysterious,
You never do stay for long,
Just enough moments to make me realize,
What in my life is so very wrong.

Oh sunset I despise your tricks,
The way you flirt with the sky,
I am not as easily deceived,
I see right through your lie.

Oh sunset i see youre wilting,
but please don't go just yet,
I need your flimsy arms to hold me,
and im scared i will forget.

Oh sunset, you fade, silent as always,
A trickle of fear touches my heart,
A sliver of doubt is all that I need,
To tear this beauty apart.

Oh sunset, you smile, wink, just play,
Deciding it's time to make haste,
So gone is the promise of comfort and love,
All hopes, all dreams; a silly waste.

The treetops aloft are golden,
but shadows are closing in,
Oh sunset i would love you more,
If you werent so weak, such a coward, a fool,
To  let the darkness win.
Funny story; I wrote this in my head while on a walk and jotted it down the best I could for what I remembered, and then I lost it so I tried to write it again, now I have stumbled across the old one so I combined them to make one seamless piece of art.

My third day here at Hello Poetry
and I've encountered one already.
I know, I know … they're everywhere …
painfully, woefully steady.

Nine-hundred posts and more …
He parades around as a poet.
But to read his prose in the English language …
you'd swear that he doesn't even know it.

He says that I have everything wrong
and that “We know that God is right".
I've no idea about anything at all, he claims,
but it's this “We” who is starting the fight.

His "We" attacks my words, my themes
and even my beliefs.
Instead of offering help or praise,
"We" slings only grief.

I've seen his type all over the world …
a sad and cowardly sod.
Nothing more than a lonely Troll (read: bully)
trying to hide behind God.

When I tell him that I'm blocking him from my sector,
he doesn't behave like any Pastor …
Instead "His Holiness" sends an all-telling message ...
calling me a “*******”.

He doesn't even know my parents.

Isn't that a hoot?

Yikes!
That was quick, he found me fast! My first here ... and hopefully ... the last.
I do feel sorry for them, in my way. But being lonely or insecure is no excuse for terrorizing others. My pet peeve of all bullies though, are the one's who act all self-righteous and judgmental in the name of "God" in an attempt to keep you from returning fire or even standing up to them.
That ... is simply pathetic.

You
You drag everyone down
And you don’t even bat an eye when doing it

This is your hobby; it’s what you’re good at
By doing this, it makes you more prideful

I’ve never known such a cowardly human

You might be quick to talk behind ones back
But you’d never say it to their face

Because you’re too scared

I try my best to be nice to you
But
there’s only so much kindness you can give
To someone such as you
You best believe I could say worse, but then I’d be as low at them.
