I lean back in my chair
Sit and stare

WHAT WAS THAT!
Something catches my eye
I jolt back in fear, then just sigh

I look at the spider, the root of anxiety
The critter creeping and crawling ever so quietly

I watch and sit still
It waits on the window sill

Instinct inside says to end its existence
But value for life does not offer compliance

Though it is the source of caution and fear
I cannot help but stay near

And so I sit and stare
Lean back in my chair

WHAT WAS THAT!
The spider catches my eye
I jolt back in fear, then just sigh
A poem I quickly wrote as I stared at a spider on my wall.  WAIT! Now it's moving!

We look like Tim Burton characters
In stature and mind.
Find me a time turner please?

Hon, I always wanted to dance with you
But you just  let me dance with my shadow

Every step I make, I feel you are there
Though even a little bit you do not care

Alas! I felt those warm hands holding mine
While my eyes are closed, I can feel the twine

Just to be surprised it is not you, dear
You are there watching, cannot hide your sneer

Hon, I always wanted to dance with you
But you just  let me dance with my shadow.

Every time we're together,
I want to live forever!

You
you're the difference in between of
what i think and what i say
you're the only one who's capable
to take my breath away
you're the shadow i remember
in the nights i stay awake
you're the last remaining victim
of the promises you make
you're the arrogant admirer
of your own self-righteous good
you're the shallow little dreamer
drowning in your lifeless blood
you're the hopeless overthinker
who can't hold a conversation
you're the absence in the thought
behind your insecure frustration
you're the joke behind the laughter
you're the end and yet the start
you're the one who i chase after
you're the thief who stole my heart.

My story is a mess, it’s going nowhere;
Continuous, never-ending like Penrose stairs.

So let me be the hero of your story —
I’d like to save you, taste some of that hero’s glory.

I will fight off your demons; for you I’ll bleed.
I will listen to you talk if that’s what you need.

I will hold you to me and never let go.
Breathe life into your stone heart, I will kiss you so.

I will help you break the chains and set yourself free
And maybe, someday, you can do the same for me.
