It was a night like any other. Then I saw you.
From that moment on, I wanted nothing more to stop and stare at you.
It was painful always having to look up to the heavens to meet your gaze.
But I endured it all.
I constantly wanted to be near you, even if you outshone me in so many ways.
I ran towards you.
But no matter what I did to get closer,
You’d seem much farther away from my grasp.
Then finally after so much I had gone through,
Finally I caught up with you!
I did it.
Then I looked again.
You weren’t as bright as I thought you would be.
I was disappointed.
Things weren’t going the way they were supposed to be.
I took one final last look at you.
Deciding that you weren’t my whole world after all,
I looked up.
I was surprised to see.
You were only one star among millions.
You didn’t outshine everything else after all.
I was just too blind to see,
That you weren’t the only star in the galaxy.
one last deep thought before I hit the sack. Duh. FINALLY. Sleep embrace me!

you were a constellation
a beautiful complexity
a pattern only I could see
but then it changed
the arrangement became an endless kaleidoscope
you were a mash of stars I could not make sense of
you entangled me in your lines until I could not see the way out
now all you are is the yellow city lights
forever blinding my view of the beauty beyond

She will touch you with her words,
She will draw the few constellations she knows across your skin,
She will hold your hands while listening to old songs,
She will let you see a part of her you've never seen,
She will make you reach deeper to her mystery,
She will be an atomic explosion inside your chest,
And she will consume you.

Just please,
Drown her with your love,
Because her soul is too strong and potent,
To be half loved..

She's a supernova
that trails stardust in her wake,
a constellation of contradictions
plucked from outer space.

And all you can think
to call her is
"pretty".
Basically ^.^

**
She wears the night sky on her face
Constellations for her freckles
And wisps of shooting stars hang
Forever falling from her ears.
They say grieving is different for everyone,
But they can never truthfully explain how.

It was not until my south star exploded
That I could understand how many constellations would be ruined

Like the godmother who would forever spend Saint Patrick's day drinking in memory of both nephew and mother;

Like the little brother who was forced to become the oldest;

Like the uncle who shuddered at seeing his own son's demise too clearly;

Like the step-mother who would hate herself for being right all along;

Like the friend who would cut up his life with the same murderous knife;

Like the father now blinded from the absence of the son's light;

And like the sister who was forced to break the promise of future reconciliation.

None of them could understand how the planets had aligned this way,

And none of them could find their former orbit,

But rather, would follow the path of the star dust left behind

Flinching at it as if it were glass,

Embracing the sting

Because it is all that is left

Of the brightest star in their sky.

he was made of dark
matter, i laugh cause i see
his constellations
Haiku #4
he feels the silence between them
becoming heavier, pregnant almost
and he knows that it cannot take much
longer in the way an embryo knows
that nine months will be over soon

she feels him drawing near unnoticably
or maybe it is his aura which proceeds
him like a premonition and somewhere
between the stars a constellation
twists itself in their direction

he tries to think of the right words
but knows that letters fall short
to convey what he wants to
share with her like a child

kiss her mind and
her body will follow

she was like the stars
long dead: but her light still shined galaxies away.
