When my wife died,
I was torn apart,
Broken from inside,
Then dad took me to my old studio,
He handed me a palette of colours and a brush,
"Son paint your emptiness  in colours and come out smiling.

grab your bags
let go of your inhibitions
and let's leave.
leave this town
leave this city
and break free from our shackles, our chains.

we'll run by fields of gold
bask in the warmth of dusk
wade through the weeks of cold
and reach the crossroad of life.

together,
all the way.
i've always wanted to run away from city life and just explore nature and be with nature and just live.

Paint the colours of the haunting sky,
With the breeze that ignites your fire,
The seas that whisper your words
And put me sound to sleep.

Paint me with colours of love,
The velvet reds of a rose bud,
The pink lips of a cherry blossom tree,
And the cayenne of your fairytale dreams

Paint the universe with your glow
The one that colours you when you dream
Covers your eyes when you sleep
And dances on your skin when you smile

I’ll admire the landscapes you’ve left for me
Write your name in that stars when I fall sleep
Keep the taste of your remembrance on my tongue
And recite it in your memory to the curious mind
The one that asks where you’ve been all this time

Vibrant blue, swirling above,
illuminated by clustered constellations.
Nature's boundless beauty magnified through
"crazed" eyes,
euphoria captured in a moment. The night
Bursting with life and possibilities...

Then daybreak clears The Canvas.
Inspired by Van Gogh's "A starry night"

Your hazel eyes
Are an artist's palette:
Green and grey, golden and brown.
If I stared long enough
I would get lost
In your pool of colours
And never be found.

Every time I see
The sky light up
In those seven colours,
I am reminded of
My pride. Of who I am.

hang my smile
and trap it in four;
enclosed with a glass
a love forever trapped in colours

an unending curiosity;
hang me on your shoulders
sketch my tears into a sweat
recolour me, blue, that blooms forever

pigmented rays of levels of feelings
a purple haze painted unintentionally
but you decided gradients weren't true
you said that love just wasn't for you

so just hang my smile
and you'll leave me hanging
paint another picture of me
with a love that's trapped in colours
a piece of art that fell in love with his observer / peculiar

Crimson.
My favourite colour.
It has been since grade 3.
The colour of blood.
The colour of my shirt.

No.
Not anymore.
You stopped.
It's still my favourite colour.
He made me love another colour.
A colour I once hated.
A colour I looked down upon.
A colour that appears on my face.
Pink.
