it came in a flurry of pink and blue
my cotton candy days
of swirling colours down the length of my spine
down the length of my throat
pooling at the base of my feet
lilac tears and a blurry violet haze
puffing like smoke before my stinging eyes
and disappearing without a trace.

Lick your lips.
Feel the bliss.
Autumn wish.
Taste the colours,
Chase the leaves.
Believe in dreams.

my life is stretching before me
an empty canvas waiting to be painted
but how can you draw a million smiles
how can you capture a thousand adventures
how do you tint a hundred sunsets
or dye a couple heartbreaks?
all i want on my canvas of life
is to have my heart stained with the colours of you.
life has just begun, and we could all use a little light in these dark times

I adore the colour blue

Not the pale blue of assumed gender

Or the gloomy blue of english

Teachers; seen in poems everywhere.

It's a royal blue

Regal

Ethereal

But without the fakeness of an emperor’s purple.

It's heavy.

You could drown in this colour.

Or you could wear it really well.

It's rarely seen.

Though it can be found if you look hard enough;

Seen in the gleam of sapphires.

The light on computer monitors

That one poster on the wall.

Sometimes I cannot picture the colours

Simply the feeling it gives me

Security

Encompassing stability

Power.

The feeling of a home I've forgotten.

To me this colour is a happy one.

(so no, these blue curtains don’t mean I have depression)

One day

After the too bright sun has passed for a final time.

I will pass by,

But I will be happy

Because my heaven will be blue.

you are electric blue,
charged up,
wreaking havoc like there's no tomorrow.

you are fiery red,
up in flames,
resisting change,
can't keep a straight face.

you are blood orange,
smiling through the pain,
a cheshire cat stare.

and you are sunset yellow,
soft and kind - the warm embrace of a lover.

you are a stroke of violet,
taking life as it comes,
slow, unwavering.

you are the pink of cheeks that blush,
a slow dance in the kitchen at midnight.

you are starry night black,
flawed and beautiful and eternal.

you are green swiveled into white,
serene, calm, still.

you are the full spectrum.

so do your dance and paint every empty canvas with your palette a different pattern every time -
this is why you are alive.

And it was just as beautiful as he said it was.
But as I asked him to lift me higher, he put me down and left me there on the floor. And Lord, I don't think you've ever seen anything so black as after you've seen the sun, like truly seen it.

It just makes all the other colours disappear with him.

falling in love hurts
falling out of love hurts more

but falling in love alone
and falling out of alone,
hurts the most.
i guess this is it lads, after a heartbreak i am back to post as per usual. it was a toxic relationship and im ready to move past it, right?
A shade of blue
Can plague the mind
A shade of green
Can turn the kind
A shade of red
Can break the stable
And yet...
A shade of yellow
Won't break the many
So many hues
And yet we don't see them all.
I see so many things in life that I just can't help attaching a colour to. But why do colours have meanings, why do I look at the world in colour? Wouldn't all just be simpler to see everything as black and white?
