i found a sunny spot to sit
the kind that makes you glow a bit
the grass was cool, the light was gold
it felt like something i could hold

i stretched out like a lazy cat
no thoughts too loud, no weight, just flat
the heavy stuff slipped off my chest
the sun, for once, made all the rest

feel smaller — gone, at least awhile
i even wore a real-life smile
but shadows came, like they always do
and took my sunlight with them too.
17:26pm / i wish i could be a cat
35$
They made me pay
To watch you die
And leave today
Mom made me an out patient,
24 hours
My happiness, joy, quickly sours
To put you to sleep
Told me not to weep
Euthanasia (<25 lbs)
Your limp paw
The last thing I saw
As you were swept away
Your weak kitty smile
My throat filled with bile
As you were taken today
Euthanasia (<25 lbs)
My mom took me out of the in patient facility for today to euthanize my cat.
I want to stop breathing.

Do you know that cat?
He always roams around,
a grey-headed wanderer
with an endless meow.

Soft paws trace the road,
gliding over rooftops.
A silent leap - he lands on a balcony
among frozen peonies.

Yellow eyes watch intently,
unblinking, still.
He sees the darkening night
and the moon hanging chill.

Gloom descends upon the city,
whispers drift through the world.
They speak together -
that cat and a blackened spot.

Fleeting murmurs
on a wooden branch in the park -
only the old oak knows
what was said in the dark.

The city breathes in fog
and exhales dim light,
the night air’s coolness
whispering prayers at twilight.

A quick slip into the shop -
white concrete, creaking floors.
Do you know that cat?
He’s always near, but never your’s.

Cirrus

You are not just a cat,
but a cloud come to rest
in a shape, soft and breathing.
Wind-white fur and sky-colored eyes—
A silver lining
with paws.

T knows you disappear sometimes.
Slipping into the folds of the house
Or sneaking through the grass,

The temperature changes when clouds disappear
And the rooms remember what they’re missing.
You vanish just long enough
to teach the joy of your return.

And maybe you do it on purpose—
not to worry him,
but because you know,
That something loved, thats lost, then found—
Is held more dearly and close
Than something never lost at all

But Cirrus,
you should know
you have been the storm at the center of a heart
that never stops checking the weather.
And there's no magic or disappearing act
That could make you more adored

So hide and reappear,
ghost and glide,
cloud and curl beside him at night.
For even when you're out of sight,
you are never out of love.
For T's cat

My grey cat curls up
Down by my side.
It'll be a long night.
We'll get through.

Rain's knocking the bench
There, outside.
It'll pass off after night.
We'll get through.

I'm staring the ceiling.
The darkness's the same
I can't sleep again.
Well, we'll get through.
Thank you very much for reading this poem! 🙏💖

a cat, they say
both dead and alive, in a sway
trapped in the box
become a metaphysical paradox

a flask of death, a trigger tick
a game of chance, so cold, so sick
they call me life, they call me death
but no one asks to hear my breath

a man, I say
become the halfway
let his atoms hum and twitch
become the theorist’s broken glitch

see how you like the in-between
will you then be so keen
maybe then you’ll see the cost,
see the life lost

seal the box, install the locks
put a man in that box

There's an old gray
cat that wanders the
neighborhood.
Neutered and wild
green eyes.
He's confident, and
thick,
doesn't trust humans
but loves tuna.
I don't blame him.
I have three female
cats that watch him through
the window, wagging their
slim tails.
He couldn't care less.

I call him Bubba.
His head is the size of
a grapefruit.
Half of one ear is gone.
I put food out for him.
He waits until I go inside
to eat it.
He's tough.
Lived a rough life.
I can tell, I've been down
some of the same
back roads as him,
slept in similar
alleys.

But no one has
taken my *****

yet.

The cat looks at me

with luminous eyes, asking --

she accepts my hand.

Rain splashes off the
screen door.
It's raining in
my heart
chubby little drops
splashing on my soul.
The sadness is deeper
than a lagoon,
bluer too.

There are days
it doesn't pay to
get out of bed.
Maybe,
in the next dream
I'll find my
prodigal cat.
We could listen to
Sketches of Spain,
Miles Davis knows
how to bring the lost home.

She's a black runt that
burrowed into my heart.

The day that we declared
each other as home
is a memory I now
have to try and hone
with every mental muscle
that I possess,
and turn it into treasure
labeled with a reminder
to keep forever
so I won’t forget

Now I want to hide away
in our old backyard woods
because this dull city
is that much more mundane
with your absence,
and all I can do is stare at the spot
where you last stood,
trying to accept once more
that life is impermanent

It’s hard not to wallow
in this murky water
that once was our cuddle puddle-
a mind goes where you let it
so I attempt to focus
on your brother instead,
he is a mess but will be alright
even though nothing is right
and we will never be the same

The one thing that will last
is your grace,
as you made sure
to let us know
how beautiful life is
even when it hurts:
we keep you in spirit and name
our sweet angel, the fierce,
