Deep inside her complex mind,
Behind her pretty smile,
A broken girl, you shall find,
who will go the extra mile,
To hide the pain she feels inside,
Working hard to look alive,
But on the inside she has died,
she feels this way, yet she shall thrive

She is Brave and Strong,
Braver than those around her,
For she has been hurt for so long,
yet trusts those who could hurt her,
She has a sad story,
It will make you cry,
But I don't want her to worry,
so I won't tell you why,

She is Brave and Strong,
And that is why,
You will never see that all is wrong,
And she wants to die,
She will live a long life,
For She knows she’ll be missed,
So she’ll resist the temptation of the knife,
On her wrist

She is Brave and Strong,
To have lasted this long,
And to continue on going,
Her smile ‘ever glowing,
She knows her future holds much pain,
But each day there is so much to gain,
She fears the pain but she’ll go on,
For she is, Brave and Strong.
dedicated to my girlfriend, who struggles with depression.

She is yours and you are hers
Why pretend otherwise
Be with her
Take a gamble
I have a feeling it will be the best bet of your life

I have bared my soul,
Spoke my truth,
To all who would listen.

I walked through the flames,
Wondering if I would be burned,
Or scarred on the other side.

I wore it like a badge of honour,
Spoke through tears in my eyes,
And a lump in my throat.

And they did not stop me,
I stopped, I breathed, I spoke,
Composed my truth through broken sobs.

I felt the fear course through my heart,
Saw my pulse beat under my t shirt,
And proceeded to show them my hurt.

I expected rejection, repulsion at my weakness,
But I was revered and my bravery applauded,
Reborn through their kindness and acceptance.

Baptised through the fire of my own heavy truth,
The reward a sea of calm waves and white clouds and endless space,
And a lightness I have not companioned in some time.

From a thousand miles away,
Or at an arm's length,
One could hardly take their eye off
From the spot in a sea of white.

Amid the identical bleats on the grassland,
Stood a distinguished creature -
The only one of his kind -
Legendary, no less magnificent.

Yet, since a little lamb,
he was obscure to the eye of his kin.
They squinted and scanned and studied
him, even liked the lame better.

Never did he understand
The reason behind his isolation,
Why a lovely creature like him
Was born to walk alone.

His traitorous heart longed for more
Yet the soft clouds were not home.
So he wore his color like a badge,
Blazing darkness in delight.

On his fours, he staggered forth.

(To fools without fear)

So I implore you,

To sit at Death's table,
and eat his fears;

To dine with fine wine,
and season the spine of darkness with pain;

To be drunk on hope,
in crystal glasses made of tears;

To be high on communion,
and poison Chaos' reign;

To look into his eyes,
so blank, so bleak, so black,

and laugh.

Make him tremble.
Make him proud to take us.

It starts with an idea, just a thought in amongst the rest,
A seed has been planted in your brain, will you let it manifest?
Will you water it? Let it grow into a dream?
Or will you let it bury in the darkest memory stream.

I watered mine, I watered most seeds,
I felt it grow and move,
I followed almost all my leads,
And I did not win or lose.
Growing their roots into each finger,
All parts of me agreed,
All those crazy butterflies linger,
Started to see my destiny.

Fear of not doing well is fuel,
No. Fear does not hold me back,
Fear of failing is nothing we choose,
Let bravery shine through that crack.

You will not
Cut out my tongue
Until you bury my corpse.

I shall be,
And speak, in freedom,
And shall owe no explanation.

If it comes
To strength and iron,
I'll fall like my ancestors,

Dying in the name of what's right.
Governments across the world are adopting a fascistic view of personal freedoms. It seems as though they wish to police thoughts and opinions. Do not let them. Oppose a regime that tramples your right to be as you are: at that point, it is no longer worthy of your suboordination.

Pause for reflection.
Breathe in anticipation.
Step out amongst the stars
No longer fear the darkness.
