humble wills, with violent tasks.
forgotten souls with guns & masks..
noisy threats, awake at dawn,
how long will this commotion last?

No one cares,
that the cemeteries are running low on space.
the mothers bid their sons farewell upon leaving the gates.
worried, & scared to death i can see it in their face..
We shouldn't have to **** each other to win the human race...

the so called "leaders" dont care that the youngins are at war..
if only they knew the humility that was once in their core.
never setting foot in the battlefield unless its safe to explore..
Politicians never get to see the carnage and gore..

new jim crow.
minimum wage might grow..
but so will the price on the head of a foe.

So the young soldier puts his gat by the pencil box in his pouch..
he knows if he ever needs another magnum that its under the couch...

& as long as his colors stay Piru, he'll forever be blessed...
But no one seems to talk about the post traumatic stress.
.................
Cursed to not follow this order..
it ends up as a disorder..
Revenge turns to a diss, order.
till a bodies rotting in the sewers & you cant stand this odor.

RIP TONY
Hashim ZK Jan 2014
Dawn breaks as the sun appears over the horizon, swallowing the darkness of an insatiable night.

A fresh breeze ruffles the hair, and the heart, with a peculiar spell as the sounds of rattling trees settles in.

The stains of tears are replaced by the shine of joy, as the sorrows of night dissolves in the mist of a promising dawn.

A sight of a dew shining on a flower, like a beautiful Pearl, instills something pleasant inside..

As the eyes travel further, they're pleasantly surprised by the bed of flowers; the spread of meadows; the colorful birds.. Chirping.. Flying.. Playing.. Nothing to bind them. Free spirits.
A heart envies them for a while.

And when looking upon the vast sky - the sheer vastness of it, leaves one enthralled.
Upon closing the eyes, one could hear the silent whisper of the clouds, of the trees, carried by the passing winds. A strange sense of belonging settles in. Leaving one calm. Inspired.

Perhaps, the birds have felt it too. One wonders.

A mind then engages into a divine contemplation, as the mystery unfolds.. Feeding on the pleasure of unravelling dreams.
A sheer bliss.

PS: Just another perfect dream of a blessed moment.

At night,
I count my blessings with each rise and fall of your chest,
The freckles that form a constellation on your back are a mere
whisper
of the universe you hold in your eyes.

Because you woke up this morning,
Thank God.
Because you have all of your senses,
Thank God.
Because your heart still beats on time,
Thank God.
Because you're not homeless,
Thank God.
Because you have feelings,
Thank God.
Because you were once put in a situation where you could've died but you didn't,
Thank God.
Beause you have at least one person that you can count on in the darkest of times,
Thank God.
Because you still have hope,
Thank God.
Because you can understand poetry and love poetry,
Thank God.
Early morning thoughts.
You're blessed.

Beautiful soul is what you are.
In some dark days you are my star.
You are an extension of God's love.
I can't deny the fact that you are blessing from above.

Everything of you is a part of me.
Your beautiful side is what I always see.
You are a person who fights for what is right.
And sometimes this cause you to cry at night.

Since before, you've been always thoughtful.
I saw the times when you became fearful.
Deep down I felt the tears you've shed,
and courageously to God you prayed and pled.

The time I met you was one of the best-
the best time to say that I am blessed!
We both know that I am not a perfect friend,
but you offered me something that will last 'til the end.

Fun things are what we always do.
Remember the days when we tried to fly and climbed trees, too?
I remembered a day when you cried a lot,
because you were playing and had a deep cut.

Rainy days! One of our favorite days!
We were excited to run and play.
Laughing, running, throwing mud.
We even tried to play in the flood.

Impossible things became possible to us,
There were many things that we liked to discuss.
We became fake animals and superheroes.
We had a pet frog- oh yeah, we were weirdos!

Each day was a time to had fun.
We didn't care about the heat of the sun.
We embraced every bruises we had.
Friends come and go- we were always glad.

Now that we are grown ups and at our 20's,
no more plays and doing important duties.
Memories and friendship will remain the same.
Some things about us, now I acclaim.

Dear best friend, I pray and hope all the best for you.
I and God will always help you to get through.
Let's look on forward to what is best,
and stick together, for we know that God will do the rest.

I'm alone in the darkness not one shed of light
My eyes are healthy but, i might as well be blind
just me and my thoughts images bouncing in my head
so at ease and relaxed, as if i were asleep on my bed
distant voices linger but soon enough i shut them out
now my mind goes loud without making a sound
a white glow that resembles a arm appears
I reach out and grab it, holding back all fear
a sudden rush, charge, bolt all over my body
i no longer fear, i have no negative thoughts
im overwhelmed with confidence
i feel a big smile forming all over my face
I really never want to leave this place
but i know i must so i slowly open up my eyes
I made a better me just by taking the time
Taking the time to clear your thoughts, rid the negative and the positive become clear and mentally lift yourself up.

When the city bores
We flaunt our privileged selves

When you're bored being priveleged in the city, relax by being priveleged in your vacation town
